After wanting to visit Crete for many years my friend and I booked this little gem, the Studio/Chalet with Pam & Emanuel. We have been back six times now! It truly is a magical island and the chalet is so quaint and cosy with a great balcony over looking the olive groves, the Mediterranean and Dia (Dragon) Island. I have spent many an hour on this balcony sipping wine, watching the sun go down, drinking morning coffee or just relaxing in the lovely sunshine. The chalet is homely with a flushing toilet a good shower, a well equipped kitchenette and laundry. It is tucked away in the lush and colourful gardens consisting of all sorts of fruitful trees with a winding path to the road just a short walking distance from the local shop & café.
Pam and Emanuel have always arranged a vehicle for us to get about and it is a great central location to be based, easy to visit lots of local areas. There are many markets, beaches and old towns & villages to explore. We have managed to go as far west as Elafonisi and as far East as Vai.
I always look forward to arriving at the studio, the beautiful welcome, yummy smells, the delicious appertizer plate, a seat on the balcony, glass of wine and relax. Right, I am off to book my next visit already…
I stayed in the chalet for four months, October thru December. It is ideally located in the middle of Crete's northern coast. It boasts an unobstructed view of the Mediterranean Sea. It has air conditioning and heat, even a wood burning stove! The closest of abundant beaches is a short downhill walk away. Iraklion, the largest city on Crete, is 10 minutes away, as is Konososs. Pamela and Emmanuel are outstanding hosts. They will pick you up at the airport and return you when your stay is over. They provide suggestions for destinations not always in guidebooks as well as for the "must see" ones.
