Hotel Bosco
Ranked #2 of 2 Hotels in Surbiton
Reviewed 25 June 2017

I had the pleasure of staying here for a few nights while working in Kingston.

It's what I would call a 'boutique' hotel mainly because it's got a modern feel and decor to it. From past painful experience, though, this can be a bit of a trial, because modern hotel architects sometimes have some really weird ideas. Thankfully not here, except perhaps for the beds which are too low for old farts like me - could be a bit of an issue getting up in the mornings.

The position is great, being just down the road from Surbiton station, so for anyone working in town it should be a breeze getting there quickly.

One minor irritation was the parking, which is at Glenmore House just down the road, where it was sometimes very difficult to get out (no problem getting in) and I had to resort to talking to an often very rude security guy at the other end of the intercom. The management might want to organise some way of giving guests a pass to operate the gate. As regards dropping and picking up luggage at the hotel, you can park in the road outside for an hour - just for heaven's sake don't forget to get a free ticket from the machine in case the local parking gestapo are out booking cars.

The food at the hotel is outstanding and certainly worth having the included breakfast and a paid for supper. The restaurant-bar seems to be very well liked by the locals so that has to be a good recommendation. One minor complaint is that on Thursday nights there is a live performance which can be heard even in the most distant rooms from the bar.

Room Tip: If staying on a weekend and/or Thursday night, try to get a room as far from the bar as possible.

Very good location close to Surbiton train station, lovely big clean rooms, friendly service and a super comfortable bed with air con in the room (really appreciated in the heat wave). Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed 4 nights midweek at Bosco Hotel. Great. No problems.
I had no intention of staying during a weekend as rumour control has it that the music in the bar will keep you awake until 0100hrs and then you have all the p***ed up people going to their rooms.
Stay midweek and all will be fine.

Dear Y9275HZrobertr,

Thank you for taking the time to post a review, as all feedback is greatly valued.

I am pleased that you enjoyed your midweek break, and would like to assure you that should you wish to stay at a weekend, that although a small number of rooms are affected by residual noise, and as such are sold at a preferential rate, rooms on the higher floors are not affected, and no issues have been experienced with disturbance from other guests.
