I had the pleasure of staying here for a few nights while working in Kingston.
It's what I would call a 'boutique' hotel mainly because it's got a modern feel and decor to it. From past painful experience, though, this can be a bit of a trial, because modern hotel architects sometimes have some really weird ideas. Thankfully not here, except perhaps for the beds which are too low for old farts like me - could be a bit of an issue getting up in the mornings.
The position is great, being just down the road from Surbiton station, so for anyone working in town it should be a breeze getting there quickly.
One minor irritation was the parking, which is at Glenmore House just down the road, where it was sometimes very difficult to get out (no problem getting in) and I had to resort to talking to an often very rude security guy at the other end of the intercom. The management might want to organise some way of giving guests a pass to operate the gate. As regards dropping and picking up luggage at the hotel, you can park in the road outside for an hour - just for heaven's sake don't forget to get a free ticket from the machine in case the local parking gestapo are out booking cars.
The food at the hotel is outstanding and certainly worth having the included breakfast and a paid for supper. The restaurant-bar seems to be very well liked by the locals so that has to be a good recommendation. One minor complaint is that on Thursday nights there is a live performance which can be heard even in the most distant rooms from the bar.
