Very welcoming on arrival. Parking right outside the hotel. Rooms a good size, plenty of hot water, evening meal and breakfast very good. The rabbit stifado was excellent all good value for money. Hotel owner very helpful in sorting out a booking mix up. Certainly hope to stay again.

Simple living in the White Mountains
Wonderfully helpful staff, ample local good quality food, clean mountain air. Very peaceful location
We took a local walk around the hotel and found a wide variety of wild plants and birds, a naturalist’s paradise

The main thing about this hotel is that they make an effort to look after you. They do not have to as there isn't much choice in Omalos . The location is very remote: it is all about the Samaria Gorge which is 3-4km away.

We arrived by bus at ~10am and were given the keys to our room. We were then offered a lift to the start of a nearby hike, lent a map and so had our afternoon sorted. Breakfast and dinner were local food and totally sufficient for our needs. The rooms are fairly basic but you are there to hike and we slept well.

The hotel is directly opposite the bus stop so you can wait inside in comfort and hop outside when it arrives. We had the choice of three departure times for the free lift to the start of the Gorge, which meant we could either get started early or leave it slightly later.

If we go back we would definitely stay here again

I really liked it here. No "frills" rooms but very clean & comfortable. Good food, breakfast is typical for Crete but dinner really was very good! Add to that a set of friendly staff who are always willing to help and (the cream on top) they are happy to drop you off at the start of Gingilos mountain or the Samaria Gorge (same place!) you really can't ask for more.
Thanks guys.

Staff pleasant. Room basic but clean. hard bed. Shower was only a hand held shower which was a little dated.Breakfast was pleasantly traditional and we liked that there was no choice but just what was set. Honey and yoghurt delicious.
