Our 3-night stay at Isla Hayahay was fantastic. The accommodation isn't luxurious, but the setting is serene and beautiful. Plus, the food is great! Full-board meals include two fresh and delicious main dishes, so you're sure to find something you'll love. There's also free wifi in the lounge. The British owner is very friendly and willing to chat with guests about his life in Bohol. We highly recommend doing both the Bohol sightseeing trip and the island-hopping day trip because you get to see two different aspects of the area. During both trips, we had comfortable transportation and wonderful, knowledgeable guides who really helped us enjoy the day. While visiting a tiny island during a day of island-hopping, our guide even took us briefly to his friend's home so we could see how the people live.
Although Isla Hayahay is a bit far from Tagbilaran and Panglao Island, the drive is scenic and you really get a glimpse into local life. Plus, they offer a variety of no-hassle packages that help you maximize your vacation. If we ever get the chance to return to Bohol, we would definitely come back to Isla Hayahay.
A word of advice: bring mosquito repellent and small bills for tipping.
