Dear RunaMia,
Thank you for your comment just posted on our page on Feb 2019.
As you stayed in the resort in April 2018, nearly one year ago, it is hard for us to remember how was the monsoon at that time.
However please note that, despite your comment, we have an organization set for beach cleaning and we have a 365 days program of daily cleaning involving all of our employees from down to top, including our management team and our General Manager. Depending on time, one of our department is in charge of collecting rubbishes that we consistently receive from the sea during the monsoon. During a year we collect 50 tons of rubbishes that we send back to the mainland in garbage bags. You believe that it is hotel job to clean the beach and we confirm that this is what we are doing even if we believe it is each and every one concern to respect our Nature. Indeed our resort is spread out in a National Park with wild life and we are very much involved in ecology and preservation having our owner invested in MERC (Marine Ecology Research Center) where we focus on Giant Clams preservation and Coral planting. This center is located at Gayana Marine Resort, our sister resort and all our guests at Bungaraya Island Resort are entitled for a complimentary visit to MERC. It is then their responsibility to participate or not and to help the local community to preserve their environment by adopting a baby coral. We do hope you did so, and we hope you will come back and visit us soon to better appraise and understand our effort in keeping our environment as much immaculate as possible, in a country that has other priorities.
