This was our third visit to a Marriott Vacation Club resort having previously been for long weekends to the second Spanish site in Estapona and the Disneyland Paris resort. This time we stayed for one week and were given a 3 bed / 3 bath ground floor apartment even though there were only two of us.

The accommodation really is superb in terms of space and facilities, Excellent beds, showers and the jacuzi bath is fun :-). We didn't have a sea view, but liked the fact that our balcony had some morning sun, and got into a routine of reading the English newspaper there each morning. We used the adult only pool on several days and the indoor pool in the evenings. Took my gym kit but never actually made it there.

We were lucky with a good week of weather and visited Ronda and Nerja as well as Marbella, all of which are recommended. We went to the El Med restaurant for the Flamenco evening which was okay, but preferred the daytime eats and drinks in the Chill Bar and Beach Bar.

And the end result - we have decided to become MCVI owners! They had some one bedroom apartments available (which the other locations didn't have). We spent the week after our visit clarifying various questions with our sales rep Suzanne (who was really helpful) and the paperwork is now all signed, sealed and delivered.

Room Tip: Ask for the bathrobes when you first arrive - great for lounging around in.

My 2 brothers and I and our wives stayed at this resort in the first week in March. We booked a 3 bedroom apartment. Accommodation was roomy and clean and, even with 6 adults, never felt that we were on top of each other. The resort was clean and tidy and staff extremely attentive. Wonderful place for a break. If there is a downside it would be to advise that we took our break prior to the start of the high season (and we were lucky with the weather). The price was extremely reasonable for that time of year - but there is a sharp increase during the summer months. Did not meet with any problems and would recommend for an enjoyable stay.

I stayed for a week and would have loved to have been there longer. Absolutely beautiful, fantastic and spotless room/condo with all the amenities you could want. The property was gorgeous - well landscaped and had many activity areas available. Loved that there was a top notch gym and classes - took two of them and used the gym three days. The instructors were so much fun and friendly. Loved having and adult only pool area as well as one for families. The restaurant was wonderful - food and service. I also enjoyed the proximity of additional restaurants within walking distance even though we had a car. I also enjoyed and we took advantage of the coupon book we were provided with for other dining options and learned of some new areas. We also liked being able to book out trip to Morocco from the Marriott and being picked up and dropped off there was a nice benefit. We liked having underground parking - car was never too warm from the heat of the sun. It is also very convenient for trips to other locations. We went to Mijas, Rhonda, Calle De Mijas, Marbella, Pueto Banu, and Campopena to name a few and had a wonderful time . Having a store on site with reasonable prices was another nice and convenient benefit. Loved teh outdoor bar in theevening as well as the fire heaters! I would definitely stay here again.

We were there from August 7th to the 14th. Flew from Manchester to Malaga on jet2. The plane developed a snag so we arrived at the esort 8pm instead of around noon. Picking up the car from the pablo picasso airport was no problem. I forgot my International Driving Permit at home (rushing at the last minute) so I let my brother who is a EU resident do the driving. People from outside EU need the IDP (you can get it from AAA). The road to and from the resort is a bit tricky and a GPS plus careful planning will help. We found that taking the toll road from Malaga is probably faster due to less traffic. The regular non toll road is more scenic. We visited Puerta Banus which was worthwhile. We also visited gibraltar which is a great historical place to visit. Try to go early to Gibraltar as a long line builds up for cars by late morning. We ended up parking on the Spanish side at a paid parking and walked across the border. The resort itself is very beautiful, typically Marriott Vacation club comparable to Waiohai in kauai. Nice restaurants on site though pricey. Pools are clean. The beach is very pleasant. We found nice restaurants on the beach outside the resort.

This place is an example of the way Marriott maintains and keeps their properties. We just returned from 5 fabulous days at the Marriott Marbella Beach Resort. We own the Marriott Playa Andaluza but decided to do an exchange to compare the two. Let me tell you this place is amazing. The apartments are big and very functional, the balcony was large facing the gardens but with a nice sea view. The full kitchen is very convenient, there is not one thing you will need that Marriott doesn't provide. I personally like this beach better than the Playa Andaluza, the beach is longer and somehow the sand is better, even though this area is pretty rocky you can enjoy strolling along the nice beach and 12 KMs later you'll be in the center of Marbella. There are two good restaurants in the resort with reasonable prices, our favorite wasa Charlies, good service with a sports bar feeling, the pool bar was good also but we only had one lunch there, can't say much about their food. Pool area is great, the indoor pool is big enough to hold a full crow of little ones without making you feel claustrophobic....At about 10 minutes you'll have a nice comercial area offering a variety of restaurants from indian, Thai to Pizza, it was a very nice mix of cousines, a good option if you want to leave the resort for a while even though you don;t need or want to. The spa area, which is not really a spa, there are just a couple of rooms off the Hair Salon area is a little dated and need some TLC but the massage I had was wonderful. Overall great experience but I didn't expect less coming from Marriott, that's why we stay loyal to their brand and commitment to their guests. I'm sure you will love it too!!!!!

Room Tip: choose pm sun and stay in building #4, close to pool but quiet.
