Rangers Run Cottage is spacious, airy, light filled, immaculate and very comfortable. Situated on a working property close to wineries, this charming getaway destination offers a warm welcome from hosts Pete and Fiona; thank you for the warming fire on arrival . Did I forget to mention Will, the canine host, who checked in on us several times during our stay . The gardens are so stunning in August that I've already booked a return visit in Spring when it's in full bloom. Make sure to bring some culinary supplies as it's self catering. The area has some wonderful fresh produce and wine.
A great escape.

The owner was very welcoming, the loft was a lovely spacious room with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We went out to a nearby Thai restaurant for an excellent dinner, but for people who would prefer to eat in, there is a well equipped kitchenette to prepare your own meals.

There is also a TV with DVD player and lots of DVD's in the room for you to watch. There was also a CD player with CD's. There are board games, magazines and so much more! It is a home from home.

The only negative I found, was that the mattress was way to hard for me to have a comfortable sleep. If I stayed there in the future, I would ask for a mattress topper or a room with a soft or medium mattress.

Room Tip: The loft was self contained, private and away from the main house and other rooms

We stayed here over the Easter weekend and it was blissfully quiet. We were made to feel welcome on our arrival and enjoyed the surrounding area for the weekend.

The unit has a small kitchenette with a microwave, kettle, toaster, utensils, cutlery and crockery. As bonus there is a coffee machine and pods (Aldi brand) which we didn't use and a BBQ right outside the door. The owners even supply your initial needs of tea, coffee, sugar and milk, totally unexpected.

The unit is basically made up of a huge bathroom and two separate rooms, the living area/kitchenette then the dining/bedroom are combined. There is also a small table and chairs outside next to your BBQ.

The garden was gorgeous with lots of hidden gems.

I would definitely book here again.

I stayed for two nights in Rangers Cottage, a lovely spacious and well equipped one bedroom apartment. It had a large living-dining area adjoining a full kitchen, with everything one could need, including a capsule coffee machine. The bedroom was also a generous size, as was the bathroom. Best of all was the pot-bellied stove, with fire set ready to light and a good supply of dry wood to keep it going. (There is also an air-conditioner, if you're staying at times when a fire isn't relevant.) The adjoining one bed cottage, Clancy's, can be let separately or in conjunction with Rangers. They both look out on a very pleasant garden which gives the impression of being miles from the encroaching suburbs. There is also a separate loft suite in another building.
Two minor quibbles: the key pad for accessing the main gate is confusing when arriving at night (though easy to operate once you know how); and the shower door opens in such a way that you have to get into it before being able to reach the taps, then hop out again while the water warms up.

Room Tip: Rangers Cottage is the only one with a full kitchen; the others have kitchenettes.

It is hard to believe this place is only an hour or so away from the middle of Melbourne, because it is as quiet and countrified as you could wish. The stars at night suggest you are a million miles from town, the GOS shows you are not far at all.

The cottages are comfy and well set up, we stayed in Clanceys, and the grounds are spacious and well kept. There is a terrific garden with herbs and fresh veggies which the owners, amazingly, let you use. There is a BBQ for each unit, and basic but useable kitchen facilities. Add the great local produce available, and the great local wines, and this is a fine place for keen foodies to stay and cook their hearts out.

The owners are easy going, and there is cheery little dog (Will) as well as a spa.

This is terrific place to get out of town and relax, with all the Mornington Peninsula attractions in easy reach. Highly recommended for couples or groups of friends
