Gaia Oasis Retreat-Resort
Ranked #2 of 4 Tejakula B&B and Inns

Gaia Oasis Abasan Mountain Retreat is a pleasure to stay at in every way. Accommodation is in the delightful guesthouse or bungalows dotted throughout the four hectares of serene forest garden. Paved paths provide the opportunity to take gentle strolls shaded from the greatest heat of the Bali sun. On my walks I enjoyed the organic vegetable gardens and seeing cocoa trees and pineapple plants, papaya, mango and jackfruit trees. The swimming pool is particularly notable, 20m in length making it perfect for laps as well as simply enjoying some sun and a view all the way to the ocean. ... The staff at Abasan were universally delightful, assisting with any little thing I needed and always courteous, respectful and polite. They were happy to answer questions about Balinese life and share friendly conversation. In particular, Ibu Yen, the manager at Gaia Oasis, is a fount of knowledge on Balinese history and spirituality and Tejakula culture and history. ... I also found that the food was lovely, made from fresh organic ingredients, generally vegetarian, often with produce taken fresh from Abasan's own vegetable gardens and fruit trees. I enjoyed watching the palm nectar being collected from the Lontar palm trees near my bungalow every morning and Abasan's small flock of chickens and ducks added a lovely bucolic touch! For a trip to the beach, just 15 minutes away, the shuttle was always available. The rooms are lovely, very well-appointed and always cleaned spotlessly using only natural cleaning products. There are very few places which offer the experience one can have at Abasan. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a natural setting, a quiet time and perhaps wishing to do yoga, meditation or explore the culture and history of Tejakula. It is very far away from the hectic pace of south Bali and makes for a memorable experience.

Room Tip: Some bungalows have two rooms so make sure to check if you are a solo traveller or a couple wanting...

Lovely setting and accommodations. Good food and friendly helpful staff. They arranged for excellent drivers and amazing day trip. Unless you are with a group yourself, you might want to plan your trip for when there is not a large group there. Very peaceful for us and large group arrived on last day of our stay.

It's a treasure. In a small village called Tejakula, a pursuit of happiness is being safely kept from mass tourism. 4 years ago a phrase in a book led me towards this resort and I’m still loving every inch of it. And though the magical setting is mind-blowing with every little detail minuscule precised, it’s something else what distinguish this place from all the others.

I have stayed here twice now for a yoga retreat and would recommend the mountain retreat to anyone looking for a secluded and peaceful holiday. The hotel is tucked away on a mountain away from anything "touristy".

The fresh vegetarian food is delicious, the rooms are luxurious, the pool is great and the staff are incredibly accommodating.

Room Tip: There are alot of stairs so if you don't want to walk far ask for one located near the pool or r...

Vegetarian and yoga types will love this laid back, rather tired hotel right on the shore of the Bali Sea. Quiet and relaxed but basic. Food healthy but quality indifferent. Sublime spa with unbelievably low prices.
