Walking distance from the Ferry, this mini motel complex (2 units) was quiet and the owners friendly. Nothing was a bother. Don't expect palatial, but the unit was clean. Heat pump was good, especially in the humid conditions of Auckland. Unit was small but with a big heart.

The location of this small motel, which only has two rooms and is in the back garden of a family house, could not be better. The place is just a two minute walk to the ferry. It is more like an AirBNB than a hotel/motel. The owners were very friendly and helpful. However, the units were quite dated and in need of work. The accommodation here is very different, and not up the standard we experienced over the rest of New Zealand. When we arrived the place was mostly clean but the fridge had obviously not been cleaned and had a half empty container of milk inside and crumbs everywhere. There was also the lid of a jar on the floor. The bed was really uncomfortable. One side of the bed was so badly sagging it was very hard to sleep in. In the bathroom the handles that open the windows had been removed and were lying on the sill. The shower was new and the water was hot.

Room Tip: Room 2 had a very uncomfortable bed.

A little accommodation gem snuggled near the Devonport beach and ferry. The handy siting allowed us to travel by ferry to the city to sightsee across the harbour and avoid the parking and traffic hassles of Auckland - these are chronic and frustrating at times when trying to have a relaxing holiday ! The motel rooms were well-presented, clean and had all the basics needed for an overnight stay. Whilst there we got the unexpected opportunity to visit Waiheke Island and stay there for a few days and the hosts kindly let us keep our vehicle parked at the motel after checking out. Service beyond that expected ! Will book again.

Room Tip: Only 2 units - both are good quality.

A great place to relax. Every thing you need if you wish to self cater and the beds are sooooooo comfortable. Very clean.
The owners are very helpful and friendly. The motel is close to all you need to explore in Devonport.
Will definitely be back.

Devonport is a great spot in Auckland, and we stayed there overnight in summer in order to take a ferry trip to Waiheke island. It is a short walk from the motel to the local restaurants, and to the ferry. The owners seemed to be on holiday during our 1 night stay, and those standing in didn't seem to have much local knowledge (I assume this was just a temporary situation). The two units out the back are comfortable and quiet, and the back garden is very pleasant. We had no noise and slept very well. Parking is a bit of a problem for a "motel". We were okay parked overnight on the street outside, but parking on the street is P120 so leaving the car there all day would be a problem (there is only space for 2 cars off-street, one being the owners). However, there is plenty of free parking outside the ferry terminal for those going to Waiheke Island. WiFi signal was a bit weak in the unit, but worked reliably for me okay.
