Marg is a true first class hostess and the accommodations are spacious, luxurious and well located on the waterfront of Devonport, a very short walk to the ferry and the centre of the village. A true five star experience not to be missed!

We stayed at the Captains Landing for a total of four months, from October 2014 to the end of January 2015. We found the self catering accommodation to be very comfortable. We had a kitchen, living/dining room, two bedrooms and a large bathroom. We had easy and private access to a deck with good outdoor furniture and great view over Auckland Harbour. We had an off street parking space and could walk easily to all that Devonport has to offer.
Margaret and Bo are extremely nice people and are very welcoming. Any minor problems were ironed out quickly

Room Tip: The Captains Table seems to be concentrating on longer self catering visitors. As such we would highly recommend this place. John and Valerie Farthing

We had a perfect 2 day stay with Margaret at the Captain's Landing back in January before boarding our cruise ship in Auckland. The 3 room suite with an outdoor deck was immaculate, comfortable and had every amenity you could possibly want including homemade snacks and even a bottle of wine in the fridge. Our 2 breakfasts upstairs in Margaret's lovely dining room complete with a white tablecloth and silver serving pieces, included absolutely scrumptious fruit, muesli and yogurt then a hot entree - one day scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, the other a grilled cheese, bacon and tomato on toast. They were incredible - my mouth waters still thinking about them! My husband particularly enjoyed the music playing in the background while we ate. Margaret arranged for our transportation to the dock and could not have been more gracious and caring about us during our stay. Be sure to book a visit at The Captain's Landing - you will love it! Thanks Margaret!

We started our 3 month vacation in New Zealand and Australia on New Year's Eve in Devenport at Captain's Landing and thanks to Margret and Bo we had an excellent start into the New Year.
We booked a table for dinner in Auckland in advance and the two took care of guiding us to the location and to ensure we finally made it there they had a glass of wine at the restaurant until we arrived - what a nice touch!
We enjoyed the warm hospitality, lovely conversation at breakfast, the spacious, elegant rooms and the most remarkable 5 star breakfast in the upper floor with a stunning view. I loved the homemade Muesli - the best I ever had. As we left, Margret gave me the recipe an I surely will make it at home.
After finishing our trip and experience a lot of different locations we still remember this place as one of the best accommodations throughout the whole time - thanks Margaret and Bo, we will surely come back some time!

We enjoyed three fabulous days during our stay at The Captain's Landing. This bed
and breakfast is located on the beautiful North Shore area of Auckland, called
Devonport, just a short 10 minute ferry ride from downtown, and then a five minute
    walk to the B&B.

The Captain's Landing overlooks the water, and so you get a great view of all the
activity, as well as the walkway on the water's edge.

The accommodation is really comfortable and elegant with a well appointed bedroom, a
spare room available to store your luggage, and a separate sitting room overlooking
the deck, and then out to the water. Breakfasts were served upstairs in the main
house diningroom which had an exquisite view of Auckland city and the surrounding
beach areas. The best part however was the lovely breakfasts prepared by the
gracious host, Margaret Ekman. Making use of organic local products where possible,
the breakfast was just exquisitely prepared and served with Margaret providing us
interesting stories and suggestions about Auckland, and how the B&B had evolved.

The Captain's Landing is a higher end B&B which offers excellent value, a great
hostess, and a good location with easy access to downtown. We would glad recommend
this B&B, and next time we are in Auckland, would
    definitely stay there again.
