Plenty of character. It doesn't get better than this. Low lighting for romantic, classics rests away from work and the big smoke

“Wonderful, cosy weekend!”
Reviewed 7 March 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Stayed for 3 nights in early February. First night was very cold but once we got the hang of the wood burner the place warmed up nicely. Already missing relaxing in front of the fire! Kitchen was nice, had everything we needed and the underfloor heating was a treat. Barn has been converted to an excellent standard and the entire place was spotless. Surrounding area is beautiful, especially covered in snow. Bakewell and Ashbourne well worth a visit, as well as the Cat and Fiddle Inn on the breathtaking A537. Looking forward to revisiting and exploring more in better weather.

“Perfectly peaceful....”
Reviewed 14 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

We stayed for 4 nights in Feb 2015. The barn was lovely, heated floor and log burner really helped with the chilly nights. Hartington is a 20 min walk away and the Tissington trail is a great bike ride to Ashbourne

“nice and modern with quirky touches”
Reviewed 23 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

stayed last week (15th - 19th september) and found the place nice clean and spacious. the mezzanine bedroom and high ceiling made the place light and airy although the toilet/shower room was a little snug! kitchen well stocked and big enough for two people to move around.the sitting room / dining area was spacious and had eclectic touches which added a homely feel. was actually nice not to have phone reception - let us unwind completely! a little hard to find as post code on sat nav takes you about a mile away but instructions from owner spot on. good centre to explore from, all in all a pleasant stay

“Graet base for local walks”
Reviewed 25 August 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Arrived by car & didn’t use all week. Ideal comfy & relaxing base for walking the local area. Biggindale a favourite. Dovedale a bit busy. Bathroom compact & off the kitchen.
Recommend trying the buses – especially the bus to Buxton. The journey & views absolutely superb. Took bus to Bakewell (only one a fortnight – on a Monday for market day). Strangely the bus didn’t pick up at the bustop as one might expect but round the corner by the church. Asked for directions in the tourist office in Bakewell & was gruffly told “there” as the lady pointed at the map. Taciturn or just plain unfriendly & rude? Blimey, Bakewell Tourist Office not promoting the area very well. Still it is worth a visit just to make puerile jests about tarts.
The Waterloo Inn is the local pub that served decent unfussy pub grub with good sized portions. Loved the sausage & mash.
If you like rambling this is the cottage for you. We enjoyed our stay!

Thank you very much for your review. I am very sorry about the Bakewell tourist info, when I next there I might pop in and make a smiley suggestion to them.
Hope to see you again soon. Thanks again. Tuyet Ramzy

“Perfect little cottage!”
Reviewed 17 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Just back this past weekend staying at Ramblers Barn. Had exactly what me & my girlfriend wanted along with amazingly good weather! Well equipped kitchen & very comfy bed made for a lovely short break. Pubs in Biggin & Harlington serve good food along with good walks nearby. Just follow the instructions on here to find it & not the postcode on a sat nav!
