Poor service, waitresses don't know how to serve clients, ignorance. Food is in poor quality 2 out of 5, price is higher than normal, almost 30% more.
I had been in Zeitoon in Port Moody as well, very expensive and low quality. although it has nice environment as a family restaurant. Hope they can survive and have reduction in price of the food they serve.

with 3 restaurants i thought i was in for a real treat - not so. just to be clear, the 2 stars are for my partners meal, mine was -2. i was going to say i clearly ordered the wrong thing but why should that even be possible? the decor was interesting but dark. nice vibrant green, black and brown with crisp table cloths and pretty clean. but then you notice the badly ripped seats which sets off the incongruity with what they are attempting to portray and with what you actually get...

after we ordered we were given a complimentary basket of one piece of store-bought cold pita, a saran-wrapped piece of raw onion and 2 small sealed plastic butter cup-things. nothing says to your customers 'i don't care if you eat this because we'll just serve it to the next table...' quite like pre-prepared plastic containers of food products. just a little FYI - baskets are usually for crumbly bread. put a little thought and effort into making whatever you serve nice to look at and inviting to eat. buy some little ceramic cups and put some butter in there NICELY, sprinkle with a bit of green herb and/or sumac and put it all on a colourful plate et voila!

i had looked at their menu online and was really excited to try their traditional vegetable soup which looked amazing online but...wait for it...they didn't have it that day. WHA? your traditional soup??? NOT impressed but ok. so i ordered the prawn kebob and instead of rice i had a caesar salad for an additional $3. there was supposed to be 6 prawns but as they were so small they gave me 9 - ok. they arrived lukewarm and seriously overcooked. shouldn't they be hot if they are overcooked? huh. it came with the most bizarre thing i've ever heard of...thai sweet chile sauce! what in the world does thai sweet and sour sauce have to do with Persian cuisine? i'm going to go out on a limb here and say NO THING! it didn't go with anything on my plate - all 2 things. i didn't even get that tasty looking charred tomato :(. i just had to shake my head. so now i'm eating chewy cold prawns dressed in some turmeric to give them some colour but completely lacking any favour.

OMG the caesar salad. ok, if you have any respect for the caesar salad DO NOT - i repeat DO NOT order the caesar salad. i was greeted with a bowl of mostly store-bought, dry, stale, cardboard-like croutons that dominated the white end-pieces of what probably once was romaine lettuce topped off with a honking dose of powdered parmesan cheese-type product all over it which I'm only guessing was to try to hide the pathetic lettuce underneath. FYI - romaine lettuce is green - dark green! oh and the dressing, store-bought from a jar with no garlic, lemon or anchovy taste at all. FYI - why would you even bother to put this item on your menu? are you proud of it? does it take the caesar salad to the next level? NO! embarrassing.

my partner had the chicken kebob and he said the chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly with a charred tomato atop flat-leafed parsley which he enjoyed very much. but his plate was taken over by mostly unseasoned white rice with a minimal amount of saffron-like topping. he ate the topping parts and left the rest which was 3/4's of it.

the whole place was dark with heavy energy and terrible music playing too loud for what it was - Iranian disco. the few other tables that were there were actually UNfriendly and the staff albeit nice were not that attentive even though hardly anyone else was there.

although i may have ordered 'the wrong thing' (why put 'the wrong'thing' on your menu???) i would not go back willingly to give them another shot. too many other places to experience. but it was that - quite the experience!

What a treat!
Some Kubideh skewers of seasoned ground beef cooked over open flame with excellent rice and the traditional fire roasted tomato. A lot of places offer this (yes they have chicken, lamb, "steak" and vegetarian dishes) but this is particularly good. Simple and good and reasonably priced.
Try it and make your tummy sing!
