I had to write this review because of the exceptional stay we just experienced. On a long cross country trip with 2 of our grandchildren, we decided to stop in Cochrane, Ontario after 8 hours on the road.
We checked Trip Advisor and called the #1 recommended hotel, but it was sold out so we read the reviews about the pros & cons of the other options. Even though North Adventure Inn was lower on the list and geared to winter snowmobile traffic, we were intrigued by the option of their loft rooms and the fact they are a non-smoking facility.
I called enroute and spoke to a very friendly man named Mike who explained they only had one more loft room available but it was close to where new carpet was currently being installed. I said we would be fine with any renovations as long as the room was clean and suitable for a family of four.
Mike was so nice upon arrival and encouraged us to check the room out before he charged our credit card. The moment we opened the door, we were pleasantly surprised with how spacious and clean the room was and the kids loved the adventure of climbing the stairs to the loft bedroom with 2 beds. The bathroom was spotless, there's a fridge, coffee maker and a TV on both levels.

The next morning, Mike greeted us in the area beside the lobby (it's a restaurant during the winter months) with a pot of fresh coffee and toast, and the kids were thrilled when he offered them a couple bowls of Lucky Charms. Mike is a knowledgeable sports guy and discussed last night's baseball game with our grandson who is a huge Blue Jay's fan while he helped put together a breakfast to go for another guest from the states who was there to play with Cochrane's Junior A team.
This stay was well beyond our expectations and we wouldn't hesitate to return in the future. The only negative was the Wi-Fi connection was weak and a bit sporadic, but this seems to be the case throughout northern Ontario.
