I have a family connection to this site (my grandfather worked on the TCH), and so we stopped in for about an hour. There are some interesting displays and a neat theatre. The staff are great.

A nice place to stretch your legs and learn some history of our province. I would say this would be a great place to stop with children during a long trip.

The history TransCanada railway is very important to know how it was started from dedicated workers to make the route for transport much safer and easier. From rocky mountains to burr tunnels and roads to highway is an excellent contribution from what we are enjoying now the good highway and tunnel travel make our lives easier.

this is a unique structure even, designed to look like a snowshed - with a grass roof! inside the 'shed' are displays of the natural wildlife, the history is all about creating a railway through these mountains, and the staff ? well they could be a little more lively about greeting and meeting.... Sadly the hotel next to the building looks like an abandoned one, as it's been closed for sometime.

If you're a history buff you'll love the exhibits here about the railway, avalanches and Glacier House. Our kids really enjoyed the exhibits and there were fun games for them to play. We even watched the short video on how the army used to clear avalanches and our sons were fascinated with the guns.
