We stayed in the main hotel located near the main Michelin restaurant, and I highly recommend both. Charlie from CA was very helpful throughout our visit. Plan to at least spend a day relaxing at the pool and enjoy the amazing cocktails and service. You won't be disappointed! Another highlight is the lumiere caves within walking distance from the hotel. Les Baux is wonderful and very romantic! Only thing I could add is that the ac wasn't great but it was almost 100 edges while we were there.

The hotel rates are merited if (and only if) you stay at the historical part of the hotel - the Oustau. Very overpriced otherwise. The Oustau is the original stone structure dating to the 17th century and is absolutely what you might imagine - grand, romantic, gorgeous, awe inspiring. It's nestled below the Les Baux cliffs and is as peaceful as it is beautiful. A Relais & Chateau property (although I'd argue merited for the Oustau - not Cabro). 2 Michelin star restaurant on premise. The weekend may have guests helicoptering in so the peace may be disturbed a bit. The newer part - the Cabro d'Or is a resort you can find in Napa valley. No need to go to France for it. So if you make reservations make sure you get what you intend to.

These 2 properties recently combined to create a high end hotel with 2 Michelin starred restaurants. The grounds are lovely and very spacious, with beautiful gardens and pools. The rooms were larger than most places we have stayed in France, and wonderfully appointed, with lovely bathrooms. The service was excellent!

Room Tip: Our first floor room had a lovely patio.

We always trust Relais & Chateaux hotels and La Baumaniere was no exception. It was excellent in all regards. The setting was gorgeous, our room delightful and meals were absolutely delicious. We look forward to returning.

This is the most disappointing Relais & Chateau hotel in which we have stayed. (We have stayed in perhaps 50.) While the gardens are pretty, the rooms are small and cheaply furnished. The hotel staff are pleasant, but not gracious. There were a variety of little things wrong with our room: electrical outlets that did not work (and staff said that they knew it already when we told them), missing soap and shampoo (they eventually brought some), failure to do evening turn-down service. The breakfasts are mediocre for 28 euros per person: yoghurt, usual cold sliced meat, usual pastries, poor scrambled eggs in a warming pan. While the mediocrity would be fine at a mid-range hotel, this is a very expensive hotel. For this price, in the Relais and Chateau group, the experience should be gracious, elegant, and untroubled. A pretty garden is not enough (and we love gardens!). Not recommended.

Dear 799carlot,

We are really sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay at Baumaniere les Baux de Provence.

We understand there were some miss functions during your stay and we have checked your remarks with our housekeeping manager and technical service so that it never happens again.

Regarding the breakfast at the buffet, we offer a large choice of pastries, cereals, fresh fruits, cold meat and cheeses and we would need some more information about what you call a “poor scrambled egg” in order to be able to correct this point.

All our bedrooms are decorated by Madame Charial with antiques and original painting from Mr Charial grandfather’s private collection.

We note you enjoyed our gardens which request a lot of work, taste and patience and which are perfectly reflecting our state of mind which is neither cheap nor mediocre.

Kind regards,
