We came to this restaurant looking forward to the good food and service we have been experiencing in the Qualicum area but sadly were disappointed. We came without a reservation so were not expecting to get a table right away. We were pleased that as soon as we arrived we could get a table on the terrace overlooking the golf course and with a view of the sea. We could see that most of the tables had been reserved for the "Nine and Dine" people and the inside was already set for a wedding the next day. However, it became apparent right away the "Nine and Dine" people were getting the good service. We felt like "extras" that received only cursory attention. We got the menus on a fly-past by one of the servers. Drink order was OK. Eventually we were asked what we wanted for our food order. I ordered two appetizers to share, a chowder and a small Caeser salad, my husband the lamb dinner. Our food took a long time to come and I noticed that people that arrived after us had received some food. When I was just about to ask if we could at least get some if it, it arrived from someone other than our server. It was unceremoniously handed to us as if the person was in a big hurry. All of the food arrived at once as we were never asked if we would like the appetizers first. Something first like the Calamari would have been nice first and would have passed the time we spent waiting for our food. The Calamari was "OK", the Caeser salad was inedible (and taken off the bill) as it was made with a spring mix and was a soggy, wilting glob. The oysters were passable, the chowder although full of seafood was in need of seasoning. The lamb was fatty and not very warm. We were asked the usual "How are the first few bites" and replied OK except for the salad. At this point we realized the whole thing was beyond complaining about. Really too bad as this location is fabulous and poor food and cursory service spoil the opportunity to be a first rate restaurant. What a waste!

We golf quite often at Memorial Golf Course and we usually go the Qualicum Beach Inn for lunch afterwards as the food and service are always impeccable but we thought we'd stay at the course and have lunch this time. We grabbed a table on the patio and the server was at the table next to us as we sat down. She left their table and went inside without acknowledging us. She came back out to bring the other table their drinks and turned around and went back inside again without acknowledging us or even glancing our way. She came back out to the same table bringing something she forgot to them and went back inside AGAIN still completely ignoring us. I thought for sure she was going to grab menus and come right back to us but sadly, she didn't. After a few more minutes, we left, went to the Qualicum Beach Inn. We were sat immediately, our server came right over and we had amazing service and food as usual. The QBI was much busier, yet we had great service. We love golfing at Memorial but will never attempt to stay for a meal again.

We telephoned earlier in the evening to check if a reservation was required and were assured that wasn’t the case so I said we would be along shortly.
When we arrived, 50 minutes later, we were told the kitchen was closing for cleaning. I have never heard of a kitchen closing to clean in an evening when people were coming in to eat.

This restaurant is located on a Golf course over looking the 18th hole and outward to a water view. The restaurant has a variety of meals for you to try and they usually have a daily special. The food is good and service is reasonably good. It's a nice atmosphere. They take reservations and do groups.
