Booked a room at the Manhattan hotel, having never been to Lloydminster before. Showed up to an unlit parking lot as well as drunks yelling and parked in front of other peoples' cars. Found a way to the "lobby" which doubles as a liquor store (no minors - such a "family oriented hotel", just as advertised!), to a very nice receptionist, probably the only positive thing about this place. It stank of marijuana and cigarette smoke and liquor, and was absolutely filthy. You needed two keys, one to get into the hallway and one to get in to the room, the room key never did work, the hallways were meandering and the doorknob felt ready to fall off. The hallways were so smoky and people were screaming in the rooms across from us, it was just terrifying! Upon heading back to the lobby to ask for a refund, there were two drunk men arguing very loudly, (the receptionist was kind enough to give us a refund). Leaving the hotel and going back to the parking lot only to encounter more drunks yelling and a fellow peeing on his tires right beside our vehicle. This place is dirty and unsafe, I would rather sleep in my car! Do not even consider staying here!

This hotel was disgusting! The floors were filthy, the stairs, the corridors and the rooms. There are no hairdryers in the rooms, the walls in my room and my friends room had holes in them! One room we were given originally had obviously had the door kicked in at some point, and the bed leg was broken so the bed was at an angle! Both rooms had sheets that had stain marks on them. The heating did not seem to work at all and the rooms were freezing. One of our rooms had no batteries in the TV remote control. There were no plugs in the baths and the water pressure was terrible and sprayed out of the tap. House keeping did not clean the room or make the beds after the first night, although did so after the second night. Very few of the vehicle plugins outside worked so if you need one good luck! We booked breakfast with the room but had no idea where that was served, nor were we told where it might have been. There is no reception, you check in at the liquor store in the entrance. We hid our toothbrushes before we left our rooms each morning it was that nasty. We tried to move to another hotel but everything was booked up because of the huge trade show hosted in the city. Avoid this place if you can - its really bad!

This hotel is under new management and it shows. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Ate at the Shangra-La restaurant - food was good. The bar on site was a lot of fun. Bought a six pack for the night conveniently at the from desk.

Room tip: If you want a lot of quiet, ask for a room on the North side facing the parking lot.

I was charged for a room I did not stay in.
I called to make a reservation. The lady told me she needed my credit card info to run a pre-auth on my card. If the pre-auth went through she would call me back with a confirmation number. She did not call back. Days later I called them back, this time a man answered. I asked if there was a resevation for me. He said no. I asked if there was a resevation made for me in my company name. He said no. I asked if there were any reservations made for those dates. He said no. So I made a reservation at another hotel in Lloyd. The day of check-in I got a call from Lloyd Motor Inn asking if I was still checking in. I said no, I was told I do not have a reservation so I made other arrangements. She told me there was in fact a reservation made for me with per-auth and confirmation number. I told her when no one called me back with confirmation number I called and was told there was no reservation for me. She told me he was looking in the wrong place for it and missed it. I told her I had made other arrangement now and I was not about to change them. She told me they will be charging one nights stay to my credit card because I did not cancel the reservation. I spoke to the manager and he refused to cancel the charge to my credit card. I called the credit card company to have the charge reversed and they told me if there is a pre-auth they can not stop the charge.

If you require internet for any reason, do not stay here! Despite a large sign advertising free high speed, we had no internet despite numerous complaints. The staff repeatedly put us off (the right person to deal with the problem was never there) and told us they would reset their internet and call us back (no calls). Very frustrating. The cleaning staff were friendly but very stingy with the towels. There were four of us and the most bath towels we managed to get on one day were three, the rest of the time we had to share two towels. The hallways stunk so bad of marijuana smoke a few times that we had to hold our breath walking through them. Our room was falling apart - very loud heater, the window was full of water and it was running down the wall in yellow cigarette smoke lines, the bathroom door knob was loose and falling off, and the bathtub dripped a steady stream of hot water and could not be shut off and at one point we even ran out of hot water. Our room sat above their bar and nightclub and we were awoken numerous times during the night to screaming and noise in the parking lot. One of the worst places we have ever stayed at, I was glad to leave and get my kids out of there. Definitely not the place for a family to stay.
