“New France living-worth the visit”

The Lamontagne House
Reviewed 23 August 2015

Historic house with very informed guides about seigneurial system and living in New France . Explained importance of this particular house and it's construction. Cash sales only for entrance and lovely gift shop .

This house is only open at certain days during the season however you can still browse its grounds and view the outdoor exhibits. Half timbering is displayed along with other types of house construction. Unfortunately, the interpretative displays are written only in French.

and we rapidly can figure out why it is not built like that today.

The guided visit is very interesting and recommended and not expensive

The free garden are well maintained. If you have the opportunity, that would be a nice place for picnics or simply a coffee

The shop has several local artisan goods that worth the trip. In my opinion these are making excellent special presents around 10$... like hand made deodorant (armspit), several honey products, and weived kitchen cloths and several historical books BUT only accept CASH ... I would have buy more if interac/debit would have been available.

Loved it.
