You know all the wee things that annoy you when you stay away ? Well they've done their homework here at #38. It's a truly unique and wonderful B&B. Everything (and I mean everything) has been thought through from the classy decor, comfy beds, huge bath, toiletries, linen and lighting to a great breakfast choice.

It has a wonderfully relaxed feel to the place with ace staff greeting you and serving the breakfasts.

Fantastic bedroom (and breakfast) views over Bristol at the back and the Downs at the front.

A 20 minute walk to the Clifton Suspension Bridge one way or straight down Whiteladies Road full of cool shops, bars and eateries the other.

Found this B&B on visit Bristol web site and read the reviews on trip advisor and all the reviews were great. We booked in for two days and on arrival the lady there could not be more friendly and so helpful.
Situated in the lovely area of Clifton, so close to bars and resturants and regular shops and also some great little quirky shops.
The B&B it's self is perfectly well kept.
The room we had No5 was a good size king sized comfy bed with over head fan wich was really needed as it was a hot day. Fantastic views from the window over the city. Also the free standing bath and separate shower was beautiful . As for the breakfast, A perfect selection from a full English to fresh fruits.
Highly recommended .

Unfortunately we only stayed here one night... but we will definitely be returning for a longer stay. It is one of the best B&Bs I have ever stayed in, great attention to detail in everything from the décor of the rooms to the choice and quality of the breakfast laid out in the morning.
The bed was incredibly comfortable, the bathtub a pleasure to use and we couldn't have asked for a better view to wake up to. The staff (well, we just met one woman!) was friendly, helpful and very kindly let us leave our luggage behind after we checked out. I've never stayed anywhere else in Bristol, and I don;t think I will!

This B&B is more than bed and breakfast, its luxury on a Bristol Downs. Arrived for my birthday treat, the staff were friendly and easy going. When they showed us the room my mouth dropped, simple but elegant deco. Farrow and Ball painted wall to ceiling wooden panels, with king size comfortable bed. The copper free standing bath was a whole other experience, something to just spend all the time in. Spacious and every thought was catered for, luxury waited. The view overlooking the Down was shunning but the view overlooking Bristol was even more beautiful. Breakfasts were plenty and very tasty! Very easy but indulgence stay, a well worth visit.

We stayed 2 nights from Sunday 15.4.12. We arrived half an hour early but were able to leave our bags and go into town. We were excited about seeing our room when we arrived back late evening, and were not disappointed. We had Room 8, a house room, with a shower and bath. There are no wardrobes or chests of drawers, but there is a footstool on which to put luggage, and shaker-style hooks with hangers round the room if you wanted to hang things up. There were bedside tables with a drawer and angle-poise lamps for reading, and as mentioned in the previous review, the nicest touches were having the lamps already on, the shutters open with the view over the city, and Jazz FM playing quietly in the background on a DAB radio. It felt like a home from home. There was also a ceiling fan to keep us cool, and the bed was very comfortable. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and there were some toiletries provided.

Breakfast was amazing! I had garlic mushrooms and poached egg on rye bread both mornings and my husband had a full English. Beautifully cooked with fresh ingredients, and, along with the pastries, fruit and muesli buffet, we were set up for the day, only needing a light lunch.

We didn't touch the mini-bar, and the wine left in the room was labelled £25, so we bought our own and used the wineglasses in the room. However, there was a good selection of snacks and drinks in the concealed fridge.

Very quiet, relaxing break and would definitely go there again.

Room Tip: We had to go downstairs for our room but as it is on the side of a hill, we couldn't believe the...
