Owner description: One of the colleges of Cambridge University that was built on the site of a 12th-century nunnery, and which today features spacious grounds and a pretty 16th-century cloister court.

Jesus college, like many, has lots of history and dates back to St. Radegond's nunnery that was built in the 12th century, although the college was established between 1496 and 1516. The chapel has modern stained glass windows by William Morris.

We stayed in West Court part of Jesus College ... friendly efficient reception and bedrooms beautifully equipped (with the exception of a mirror for ladies to use when drying their hair !!) .. very comfortable beds with crisp white linen and lovely white towels ... a very nice hostess tray with tea, coffee, biscuits and bottled water refilled every day ... I shared a bathroom with my foster son (13) powerful shower and well designed. A bar downstairs and breakfast in the dining hall across the courtyard .. a good variety for a decent sized continental breakfast and a specific cooked breakfast also on offer, would definitely come again .

I was going to walk through Jesus College to the Lido. This was not possible but I found myself in this very beautiful tranquil place in center of Cambridge. No tourists, very silent and nice

Being on the edge of the centre of Cambridge, Jesus College has more space around the quads than elsewhere, It gives a feeling of relaxation after the hustle and crowds in the town centre. The chapel has 2 organs and interesting Victorian touches to make it worth a visit, especially if you can hear some music and singing from the excellent choir and organists.

Booked as a last minute and lucky to have a room! The West Court is a new building with lovely, clean and modern amenities. But it's connected/with access to the old buildings so don't be dismayed if you want the feel of being in a College accommodation.

Bed is firm and linen very clean, white and crisp. There is a shower and toilet - towels very clean and soft. Hand wash and body wash provided; all the rest make sure you bring with you.

Iron, ironing board, and hair dryer provided wit a small fridge in the room. Desk is great for studying or work, well lit and there are enough plugs. Room allocated to us was by the road, I hardly hear the traffic even I am light sleeper. However, when it became slightly warm in the room, I cannot open the windows as I will be surely disturbed by the traffic outside. But I am a light sleeper and also at night, the traffic is almost close to none. Make sure you are prepared to hear some groups of Saturday night outers during weekend, remember that you are in a University town where the youth, understandably have the right to party and have fun when they find time!

Monica in reception was very nice and accommodating. She looked like she was enjoying her job which was great for the guests.

Breakfast is top-notch. A good selection of bread and pastries, smoothies, hot food (salmon and scrambled egg on toast during our visit), fruits, porridge, hot drinks and juices. There is plenty to choose from. Staff were nice. Tables and chairs may feel cramped but this is minor for me. Just imagine you are a student there and feel the ambience!

The grounds are free to explore for guests. Make sure that you make time for this as it is a beautiful
College. Also attended the evensong, awesome choir. The football/rugby fields are lovely to explore early in the morning.

Easy walk to other Colleges and the river. A Sainsbury's supermarket is within 3 minutes walk. Pizza Express and Patisserie Valerie in 2 mins.

I gave it a four-star because I know I would have liked it better if I was in a room which is not facing the road. I am happy to trade-off the balcony to a view of the courtyard/green grass.

Thanks for a lovely stay!
