We popped into this place on our way back to the car after the end of a long day and, if we're being honest, were a little underwhelmed. The round end of the church is interesting, but other than this the inside of the church is fairly plain and pretty typical - nothing special. There were some interesting information banners explaining the history of Cambridge (dating back to roman times) which we found very interesting, but I'd only advise a visit to this place if you have the time or are really interested to see everything in Cambridge, as there are better sights in our opinion.

Thank you, Jonathan, for your feedback! It's true that the Round Church is a little different from other Cambridge edifices. It does't have the grandeur of King's College chapel or the lavish decoration of the chapel at Saint John's College. It is, however, an architectural treasure in its own right, predating every university building and one of only four complete Round Churches in the UK. It was also the curious centerpiece of a drama of 19th-century church interior design! We are glad to hear you enjoyed the 'Cambridge Story' exhibition - we hope that it is a helpful orientation as visitors begin their time in Cambridge.

This ancient and beautiful little church was an unexpected highlight of our walk round Cambridge, which we enjoyed in spite of the dense crowds of tourists at the main attractions. Dating from the 11th century, it is one of only four round churches in use today, and unlike any church I had seen before. Only a few people joined our interesting and informative tour, which gave us some respite from the crowds! Certainly worth a visit, and if you are lucky a temporary escape from the tourist hordes!

This is a beautiful small church in the heart of the City Centre. The gentleman who was also the guide there was extremely passionate about the building and was a very good guide. There is an exhibition and a video to see.

We read this is the second oldest building in Cambridge, and was worth a visit. The building is lovely, and the history interesting.
We decided to book a tour from this building. The guide is patronising, we were twice asked to confirm we knew who the Pope is. The information given would have you believe that Christianity was responsible for the development of Cambridge University, and the development of Science in the Western world.

Thank you, Bob V, for taking the time to review the Round Church! We're so glad you enjoyed the building, and are sorry to hear you were unsatisfied with the tour. While we do argue for Christianity's vital role in the development of Cambridge University and the intellectual milieu that birthed the scientific revolution, we do aim to present a nuanced picture in a compelling way. We're sorry that this wasn't reflected in your tour. Your feedback is appreciated and helps us to improve our walks. Best wishes, the Christian Heritage Team.
