We stopped by the Waterman for a drink it’s a very cosy pub with a lovely garden and the young man behind the bar luca was very helpful, had a good knowledge of the beers his services was impeccable and we will definitely be returning!

The rooms would cost double the price 15 mins walking south
Shame we did not eat there as the pies are legendary. Parked directly outside overnight and topped up at 9am for two hours usin @ringo app
The food was great, but very poor service. No one came to take any drink orders during our meal and we had to go to the bar ourselves to get drinks. We pre ordered our food from the Christmas menu, however when we enquired about coffee which was listed on the menu (as a separate course and not an optional add on), we were told that as we had not specified we wanted it when we sent our pre order it had not been prepared so we could not have it. The staff then added a 12.5% tip to the bill without asking us which most the group paid out of awkwardness. Nothing about the service we received justified the tip. Would not return based on the poor service.
We had a comfortable stay. The Waterman is an easy walk from town and even though it was the night of an England world cup game, quiet. I slept better than I usually do!
The young men on reception and in the bar could not have been more helpful and free parking 5 minutes walk away was not an issue. We ate one supper there and it was well cooked but at the time of our visit there was no breakfast chef.
The room was clean but it was rather tired (old carpet damaged lavatory seat and stained toilet bowl). the shower was excellent.
Thank you so much for a wonderful visit! We stayed two nights and felt so at home! All the staff are just fantastic! We also had dinner here the first night and it was brilliant! The gluten-free fish and chips were delicious! We would highly recommend this wonderful place to anyone! Thank you again!
Clean, comfortable room and bathroom at a very reasonable price. Good central location (St Mary's Church is a 20-odd minute walk away). We returned to our room rather late, but our key and the door codes gave us immediate access.
