Just come back from a weeks coach holiday in this hotel with K M.This holiday was booked almost a year ago and when we heard recently the hotel was going to be demolished very soon was unsure what to expect as we wondered if staff would have left etc.Yes this hotel is a little tired around the edges, but we had a big light ground floor room with a wonderful view of the sea and the castle which was spotlessly clean.we had a nice bathroom with walk in shower that was very modern also. The food is traditional catering perhaps to a slightly older guest but nothing wrong with that.Certainly the portions were very generous and we all seemed to enjoy it.Highly recommend the porridge and also the fried eggs which are done very well.Peter the manager is very pleasant and enthusiastic and all the staff are very helpful.we wish them all good luck in the future and hope they soon find new jobs which they certainly deserves. We would most certainly have returned next year had the hotel still been there.A loss to Falmouth I think.

Room Tip: Try and get a sea view well worth the extra

We booked a week's holiday here on a self drive basis with Alfa travel and have to say it was very impressive. We arrived early in the morning but were allowed to leave the car on the front car park until our check in later in the day and we went off to enjoy the lovely town that is Falmouth. The hotel is well located for able bodied people who can walk but some of the older clients in the hotel were struggling to walk into town and back. Right opposite was the beach and a steady pleasant walk one way was Pendennis Castle, which was amazing,or in the other direction you could walk to the pool or to 'Gilly' beach and the beach bar and sit and watch the world go by. It was our first visit to this hotel; the staff were all fabulous, welcoming and went out of their way to ensure you were ok. It's such a shame that it will be closing in October for demolition and to be made into upmarket retirement apartments, which sadly is what seems to be happening in and around a lot of the area.

Room Tip: We had a side sea view, which was great for our needs. The room for us was somewhere to sleep mainly...

Nice hotel in a wonderful position overlooking the expanse of Falmouth Bay. Very friendly and helpful staff but the entire clientele appeared to consist of elderly coach trippers! The breakfast was plentiful and of good quality but was served at (your specified) table rather than being a buffet style. Some parts of the hotel look a bit tired. Good position for walks directly into town or around Pendents Point and the coast into town. Heard that the hotel is closing at the end of the season?

We booked this hotel at the very last minute as the accommodation we had booked looked poor. The staff and in particular the reception member of staff made us feel very welcome. The hotel has a great view and is very relaxing. It does need some updating and a coat of paint here and there would help. The room we had was okay with an updated bathroom and a comfortable double bed. The only downside really was that we paid an amount that was a lot to high for the type of room that we had, as it was a room at the back of the hotel with no views. So if anyone books here, book a sea facing room.
