On our last evening staying at the Glendorgal Hotel, we stumbled upon Lusty Glaze and my oh my what a wonderful little hidden gem it is! Whilst the steps leading down to the restaurant may not be for the faint hearted (I am petrified of heights and couldn't look down) the views and the welcoming staff really made up for it!
Lusty Glaze was wonderfully warm on a cold and breezy evening in Newquay and the atmosphere inside of the restaurant was absolutely stunning even if we were one of the few in the restaurant at the time.
My single criticism would be that the fish had a beer batter and I do not recall this being listed on the menu. If it was then of course this is my error and I should have chosen something else as I'm not a huge fan of beer batter and picked the fish out of the batter, however, my dad was exceptionally pleased with his seafood linguine and said it was he best he has ever had!
Lusty Glaze is definitely worth those 133 steps - you have to try it!

If you can cope with the steps to get down to the beach, most people should, then this restaurant on the beach is great. The food was lovely, friendly and attentive staff and it's on a great beach too

Another cracking meal at Lusty Glaze - the curried scallop was fantastic. Service as usual was excellent - friendly and efficient. I recommend getting there early to sit and chill by the log fire with a drink before dinner - heaven!

I cannot rate this place highly enough. We went on a Friday night, specifically for the live music, and had a wonderful evening.
Great music, even better food and a beautiful atmosphere.
The menu is simplistic with things like mussels, steak, fish and burgers - all of which were lovely!
The restaurant is located on the beach down some long winding steps. It is effectively a large wooden beach hut, decorated with fairly lights, but it makes for such a great cosy atmosphere.
This will be the first place on our list for future visits to Newquay.

P.s this is extremely dog friendly. Every table had a dog with them! They provided beds and treats for the dogs. A great touch! 👌🏼
