We stopped overnight on our way to the Scilly Isles and booked this b+b because of its location next to Penzance station. On the plus side, the price was reasonable and the room was clean. However, the overall experience was marred by an appalling breakfast, poor mattresses and the multitude of warning signs in the room stating that all damages are to be paid for and that anything blocking the loo will incur a charge. Also, the power point to switch on the tv was so high on the wall that my wife could not reach it and even I had to stretch!

Room Tip: Rooms on the front are noisy due to road traffic

The signs in the rooms are a deterrent as we have saniflow systems and you can not put baby wipes down them as they get blocked easily, until we put the notice there we had loads of problems. The notice for damages must be paid for works for us. There are sufficient power points in the rooms that you do not have to touch the TV power point as the TV's are always on standby and there is a remote control. I can not see how breakfast is appalling everything is fresh.

A nice traditional B and B stayed here prior to setting off on lands end to John Ogroats Cycle Ride.

If you are looking for a 4 star hotel this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a friendly B and B this is certainly for you.

I stayed here in June 2016 and was met by the owners who were pleasant and attentive to my needs after a long drive. The room had everything I needed for a short stay and was very clean. I don't understand the negative comments on the ensuite facilities - the bathroom is small but in perfect working order - people need to remember this is a bed and breakfast not a 5 star hotel. Breakfast was unbelievable very tasty big thumbs up to the chef great fry up, there are also choices of cereal, toast etc you can have instead.
The B and B is situated in an excellent central location for several day trips around the western peninsula. All in all a great little place to stay.

Carnson House is very handy for the train station. It is only a couple of minutes away from it. This is because it on the main road running through the town. Our bedroom looked out onto the main road and the side wall of the station. In fairness we hardly heard noise from the road and noise from the pub next door ceased at around 11.00pm. It is only a short walk into the centre of town and the ferry to the Isle of Scilly. There was wifi in our room but it was very slow. The B&B is begging for some simple investment. Our bedding was 50/50 cotton/polyester and the colours were faded with age. The duvet was not a quality product. We were suspicious about the cleanliness of the bedding. The shower was primitive in the extreme. The toilet was a saniflo system. It was the noisiest toilet I have ever encountered. After flushing it roared for a time. Warning: if you get up at night and flush the toilet you will certainly wake up your partner – and probably the nieghbours. The room had a TV and the usual tea/coffee making facilities. Judging by some warning signs about behaviour (see pics) I presume that the B&B has had some problem guests. Nevertheless, this smacked of unnecessary finger wagging to us. The breakfast room was pleasant enough and the full Cornish breakfast was excellent. If you were to pick some other place at random it would probably be better.

WI FI is fine maybe it needed re-booting and it does say on the information sign if you have any problems we are pleased to help. The signs are there as a deterrent not warning signs we have not experienced problem guests at all. Thank you

The Carnson House is a small B&B very near the Penzance Train Station but not in a noisy location. The owners are delightful but not overbearing, the rooms are clean and have all the amenities you should need, the breakfast was great, and the location is 2nd to none for access to the train and bus stations in Penzance. Our room was ready when we arrived and we were allowed to leave a couple of small bags after check out and prior to our departure back to London. This was my second time to stay at the B&B and I would stay there again when I return. It is not a fancy place, not expensive, but is not the cheapest in the area either, however, the convenience and pleasantries make the price very worthwhile.

Room Tip: There were stairs with no lift so those with disabilities may need to inquire first.
