Great pub food and beers at reasonable prices. Very friendly for people and dogs. Nice comfortable atmosphere with good music.

We booked a table for twelve for lunch
My ploughman’s was delicious
The beers were much welcome and good variety stocked
Although reasonably quiet the friendly attentive staff made us welcome

I had the special - a pizza with steak and stilton which I was not sure would work, but it was gorgeous. Hubby had fish and chips and they were good too. I gather they have a great reputation for pizzas. The fajitas and enchiladas going out looked great.
Sadly when we went back it was totally reserved, even mid-week after the early Mat Bank Holiday. We did have several drinks there and they were very up to date on safety and drinking inside the pub or outside. The plastic glasses were of a good quality
By Dartmouth standards not too expensive.

What can I say it ticks all the boxes especially on a wet day with hot food in ample quantity . Building interesting, dining area spacious, lots of well cooked food to choose from. My daughter had 4 large slices of thick cold ham, two fried eggs and two rounds of bubble and squeak as an example.

Easter Sunday pub lunch for four with a well behaved dog. Warmest of welcomes, traditional atmosphere, prompt with the food, exactly as described and all very happy. Clearly very popular, would advise booking or arriving early. Great location by the quay.
