Owner description: Take this extraordinary glimpse into the beloved holiday home of the famous and much-loved author Agatha Christie and her family. The relaxed and atmospheric house is set in the 1950s, and contains many of the family's collections, including archaeology, Tunbridgeware, silver, botanical china and books. Outside you can explore the large and romantic woodland garden, with a restored vinery, wild edges and rare plantings, which drifts down the hillside towards the sparkling Dart estuary.

We decided to visit Greenway whilst in the area. It is run and owned by the National Trust and if visiting by car you must book the car park as the parking places are limited. I found the house to be very interesting and you would think the owners had just popped out as it has been left in a time warp. A walk in the gardens and down to the river Dart is a must if mobile. You can visit the original boat house and dream a while. Hope this helps!

Despite the weather (constant rain) we found this to be a pleasant trip. The house shows off its links to Agatha Christie well and the location is lovely. As another advantage the car parking is limited, ensuring that the grounds and house are relatively quiet. Recommended

A wonderful if not beautiful house with a great history.
The views were great and the guide who told the story of the house from when it was built up until it was given to the National Trust, including lots of information about Agatha Christie.
The inside of the house is a must with lots of memorabilia and NT stewards to give you lots of information.
You do need to reserve your parking by giving them a ring.

Visited with a organised group. As an Agatha Christie fan for many years had been wanting to visit for some time. I really enjoyed the visit, had a wander round the gardens and then into the house where I could have spent hours longer just looking at all the collections and reading about them. Had lunch in the cafe. Unfortunately on the day we visited the coffee machine was broken so had only filter. I had the fig and cheese tart which was disappointing - very thick pastry which was difficult to cut and chew and not enough of the lovely filling. Then had a guided tour of the garden which was very informative. Didn't have time for a cup of tea but the chocolate and raspberry slice looked good.

This is a most interesting property and a must for Agatha Christie fans. Once again really helpful NT volunteers made the visit really special. The lady in the car park/ buggy was really friendly and gave welcome information. The volunteers at the Boathouse were excellent, even pointing out a water vole which was delightful, having never seen one previously! The cafe was a little disappointing, I felt the one at Coleton Fishacre was better run, however that might have been because the coffee machine was broken the day we visited! You need to book the car park in advance which is very easy to do unless you can come in by rail/ river ferry/foot.
