We visited last weekend (18-19 Nov) with my elderly dog in tow. We were given the Dart room as requested as my dog can't manage stairs these days. The room was beautifully furnished in classic English country style and with well-chosen antique pieces that made the room feel stylish but comfortable. The bathroom on the other hand is a thoroughly modern shower room with lovely fittings. All was scrupulously clean.

The friendly owner Sally has included everything you might need or want, from quality toiletries and lovely fluffy towels to soft cotton dressing gowns, iron & ironing board, torch, corkscrew, hot water bottle, safe. The tea tray is well stocked, with the helpful extra of fresh milk in a fridge in the hall for those like me who can't abide UHT cartons. Beside the bed were also wine glasses and water tumblers with mineral water and chocolates and a selection of magazines on a coffee table in front of a pretty window seat.

The bed was very comfortable and the only problem for us was that we don't like heat in the bedroom so had to air the room before bedtime as it benefits from 2 modern radiators and an electric wall-mounted heater for back up. This would not be a negative for most people I know and was easily resolved.

As a working farm we expected the occasional countryside smell but it was just that - only when the wind changed direction. It didn't bother us and there was no general smell around the farmhouse either. It was a very peaceful stay and the cooked breakfast was fabulous. As others have said, the poached fruit from the farm itself was knockout. We didn't need to eat again all day.

We headed off to Exeter on Saturday night (maybe 20 mins drive) and to Exmouth on Sunday morning for a dog walk, again about 15-20 minutes.

A great base for a couples stay and we will definitely be back.

A great base for a visit especially if you have a dog (I couldn't find anywhere suitable in Exeter even at higher price brackets) and we will definitely be back. You can see why the farm has won so many awards.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit in the four poster room. My wife said it was the best room we have had, particularly the size of the bathroom with a decent shower and a bath. The supplied products are top notch and the drinks tray had an extensive choice of hot drinks. Plenty of drawer and cupboard space. Then there was breakfast, a cosy room and excellent top quality ingredients - there was not much need for lunch.
Tank you for a lovely weekend home from home.

Very pleasant, quiet and peaceful stay. Sally was a great host, friendly, polite and cooks a mean breakfast!... a local pub 15 minutes away where we also enjoyed good food and wine. Darts farm, topsham and Exeter close by. Highly recommended
