Sunny Lyn Holiday Park
Reviewed 9 August 2017

Love this place - shouldn't write a review as like it all to myself. The area is stunning with a river next to the site, pub at one end and shop/toilets at the other (there lies the problem if you had too much drink, and the sound of running water gets to you in the night!!)
The river is good for fishing or just looking at with mini water falls and the site is in a valley protected by trees with lovely walks from the end of the site to Watersmeet, Doone valley etc. & a short walk to either Lynton or Lynmouth.
The site provides a hearty fry up to start the day from about £6 for set menu but you can have cereals or chose your own fry up (pick & mix) all cooked fresh with even a children's menu.
Shop is sparsely stocked but enough bare essentials - I'm sure the new owners will be filling the shelves with items as the true demand grows.
Good laundry facilities, shower etc. but we treated ourselves to a static caravan this time rather than the usual tent.
Staff are really friendly, fun and attentive - always there to help in any way with good knowledge of the local area (bus timetables etc.)
Will always return here as this place gets in your blood!

Arrived late 7.15pm and just caught the owners and direction to Plot 8. The best plot on the campsite for a smaller tent. Everyone was so charming and when I found I had left my pegs at home a gallant man let me some plus a mallet! Can't fault this lovely campsite. No cars allowed on the grass so no late lights. Bed time by 10.30 and we all knuckled down. Only noise was the river in spate. Cooked breakfast available and free showers. No distance to walk the dog on NT trail and an appropriate pub 1 minute away with amazing food and local beer. What more you could ask for?

Small campsite that has a short scenic walk to the centre of Lynton as well as having beautiful walks to watermeet directly from the campsite. Staff showed us these walks on arrival which was extremely helpful. Shower/toilet block was adequate. Quite pub/thai restaurant adjoining is worth visiting. Booking available online. Reasonable price

Really nice place on the river, good facilities and breakfast was good, however be prepared to get shouted at across the campsite if your dog dares to answer a call of nature! (Obviously we were armed with poo bag ready for prompt removal and were on edge of site away from tents etc) If dogs need to toilet off site, this should be mentioned or signs put up.
On the plus side, the pub and Thai restaurant is highly recommended.

Thank you for your review and we're pleased you enjoyed the location and facilities. We love dogs and are very dog friendly but due to hygiene reasons we can not allow dogs to foul on the camping field. I certainly didn't mean to upset or embarrass you but I could see you were following your dog with a bag and was hoping to alert you before your dog fouled. There is access to the National Park within 25 meters of the campsite and we ask that guests exercise their dogs there. We hope this hasn't put you off a future visit as we would welcome you and you dog back anytime.
