I recently spent two perfect days at The Orestone Manor. The food was exquisite, the service faultless, attentive without being intrusive. Coach House Suite spotless. Decor beautiful. Just a perfect place.

This is one of our favourite places for lunch, so when it came to celebrate a Birthday and a 30th Wedding Anniversary we decided to book and stay the night so we could enjoy the ambiance and enjoyment of an evening meal and a good nights sleep. We were booked into room 7 which has beautiful views of the bay from both the bedroom and the lounge. ( unfortunately the tv is located in the bedroom one in the lounge would be useful to fully use it) The décor is suited to the age of the building and very much in the style of William Morris. The free standing bath is amazing and was large enough to accommodate two for a lovely relaxing bathe, with a glass of champagne. We decided to take our dinner in the conservatory, to still have the lovely view over the bay. The food here is delicious. We started with canapes. For starters I had the Brixham Crab Martini, Avocado, Apple Sorbet, Apple Crisp, Poppy Seed Straw, my husband had Chicken Liver Parfait, Toasted Brioche, Caramelised Red Onion Marmalade. For mains we had the fillet of beef and finished with a chocolate delight. This is a truly delightful hotel, the staff are friendly, professional and accommodating and we will be visiting again.
From the location, staff, ambience, food - just 1 word - superb!
Even when catering for 50 everything runs smoothly and the food is as excellent as when dining a deux - well done - keep up the fantastic standards, thank you
We went for 2 nights in August and stayed in a beautiful 2 story room with hot tub on the terrace. Very well equipped room.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Food is wonderful so do book your meals as they get busy - good prices too.
There are sea views but this is not directly on the coast. Drive or walk down hill to a wonderful small beach (pay car park) and steps down to beach. Pub by car park too.
Highly recommended.
When we checked in we were asked if we were celebrating anything. We replied that it was our golden wedding anniversary. On out table for our evening meal there was a card and at the end we were brought a plate with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate and 4 special chocolates. Such a lovely unexpected touch. The food was excellent and our room very comfy, clean and well equipped. All excellent value and we could not fault anything.
We had a very successful stay when celebrating our Ruby Wedding in 2018. We would have returned before but, you know, Covid….
Anyway we came back last Friday, inviting local friends to join us for dinner.
Room 5 was a delight. So comfortable and with a super bathroom. And a Union Jack outside our window!
A truly delicious dinner. We all had different dishes and they were ALL superb. We loved everything about our stay and will be back, hopefully, in 2023.
