There is a simple menu which is cooked to order. The service is friendly and the cook is willing to please. She will accept requests and cook the food how you like it.

food was good when it (eventually) arrived but I'd avoid unless it's just for a coffee sort of thing. Take sarnies or plan your museum visit not to include lunchtime.

Called in for a quick coffee and cake on our visit, I can recommend the fruitcake. Staff were very friendly.

oh dear, I have included a review of this restaurant with the museum but never mind it is worth making another mention.

There are two specialities of this cafe restaurant, one is coffee and cakes, and the other is soups. In addition, up to 80 people are served on Tuesdays and Wednesdays when they have special social events for senior people.

There are 32 covers but they do have more tables and chairs to accommodate up to 36 people.

The lady owner is injecting new ideas not the least of which are new ideas for soup.

I can unhesitatingly recommend this place; you never know what new ideas she will introduce for a lunch and I can guarantee good quality of home cooking and a reasonable price

Had a great meal here. Jackie the new owner is really friendly and can't do enough for you. The food is homemade so she knows exactly what ingredients are in each dish, great if you have allergies. Main meals are around £5 mark and licensed as well so you can enjoy a tipple. I had the macaroni cheese bake and it came with side salad and a crusty roll. You can access the café without visiting the museum as well which is good.
