We have had lunch in here on numerous occasions over the last five years and I must say the latest manager is doing an excellent job, the staff are dressed smarter and very friendly and polite.
The choice of food is very good, a cheaper menu that is good for a quick bite. Another menu which has an excellent varied choice, we have had meals from both and the food is of good quality. Will continue to visit, also dog friendly.

Me and my dog stay at The Commodore every month when visiting my Mum in a local care home and it has become a home from home. The location is perfect, right on the cliff top with easy access to the beach and the town centre. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped with sea views and breakfast is good. But what makes The Commodore extra special is the welcoming and friendly staff who will go out of their way to make your stay a happy one. It may not have official stars but it gets 5 stars from me.

Lunch for three at The Commodore. Out of season, so it had a "local" feel to it.
The food is straightforward, generally good, and certainly good value. Not expensive.
All our meals were well-cooked and presented, although my bowl of mixed veg was over-cooked and watery, so I left it.
Good, friendly service. Easy access for less-agile people. There's a small car park, and on-road parking too. A good choice of beers & drinks, as you'd expect.
We really enjoy our visits to The Commodore and look forward to our next one soon.

Just come back from a lovely weekend in this hotel, The room was nicely decorated, bed very comfortable, lotss to choose from for breakfast and was very good, Jonathan and the rest of the staff were really pleasant and helpful. The live music on Friday night was a little too loud but the younger people seemed to enjoy it. We will definitely go there again, only downside not much parking. I do not know why but web will not allow me to rate hotelso for readers info SERVICE excellent SLEEP good ROOMS good

Room Tip: Rooms 4/5 nice sea views but could have road noise in summer
