Description: This vibrant restaurant in the Old Christchurch Road in Bournemouth is always bustling with a dynamic and diverse crowd. Ciao has become a favourite with locals for its unpretentious Italian fare and chic cafeteria style. With energetic red walls, brown leather banquettes and tiled floors, the dining room is welcoming and the staff are super-friendly. Best known for their menu of traditional pizzas and pastas, Ciao also offers a range of delicious salads and meat dishes. We love the honey and lemon chicken salad; the spaghetti con gamberetti spaghetti topped with prawns, scallops, rocket and fresh herbs in a tangy chilli lemon sauce; and the tasty oven-baked peppers stuffed with lentils, cannelloni beans, red onion, spinach and rosemary.

Cannot recommend HIGHLY enough. The food is out of this world, we had tapas and each dish was exceptional in taste and presentation. The staff could not be any more helpful and were very knowledgeable and worked extremely hard to ensure every element of our evening was taken care of. Thank you so much, will be coming back again very soon <3

We ate here whilst on a night visit from Bristol. We had steak for main and lemon cheesecake for dessert, we were both happy with our meal, especially the steak.
We thoroughly recommend this restaurant

On the recommendation of Trip Advisor my friend and I visited Ciao for dinner this evening. Unfortunately it was not a pleasant experience. The food was average at best. My starter of goat's cheese on ciabatta was dry therefore not particularly enjoyable. My main course of chorizo pasta was fine but something I could have knocked up at home in 10 minutes. My companion's chicken and asparagus risotto was bland and tasteless- the worst of the 4 dishes we ordered. We were looking forward to dessert in the hope the restaurant could redeem itself but we were not given the opportunity to sample them; we waited 30 minutes after our mains were cleared before giving up hope of being asked if we wanted any, and therefore asked for the bill and then made a sharp exit. The service started off fine but got worse and worse as our meal went on. It's not even like the restaurant was busy! The staff seemed far too preoccupied by a rowdy table of 6 people next to us. Also, £27 for a bottle of prosecco is extortionate! Needless to say, I will never visit this restaurant again- and neither should you!

This is an excellent restaurant serving authentic Italian food with passione! We were staying in bournemouth for only one night and happened to meet a lovely Italian lady who works in House of Fraser (Alessandra). She recommended this restaurant and we are very grateful.

We visited this restaurant early on a Friday evening but suprised to find it wasnt busy. The venue is not that big on first view but it also has a downstairs area too. We loved the decor and the friendly staff. The food was all well presented tasty and well cooked. We were so full we didnt manage a pudding even though I would have loved to try one. I would definately return again when we are in the area.
