“Amazing Stables!!”
Reviewed 30 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

The Stables is a very homely retreat, well equipped and comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. The cream tea on arrival was most unexpected and welcome. We will most certainly be staying again.

Glad you found the Stables comfortable and to your liking and convenient for visiting your friends. Hope you had a lovely day for your grandsons birthday party when you got home, the weather was perfet for it! We look forward to possibly seeing you again sometime in the New Year.Sarah and David

“An idyllic rural retreat”
Reviewed 22 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

The accommodation was ideal for two, having a good sized living room and a spacious bedroom. The galley kitchen was a bit tight; cooking facilities were fine for simple meals. The location was splendidly isolated, the farm animals were a source of constant entertainment and the welcome we received from our hosts was among the best in over 30 years of hiring holiday cottages.
The Somerset/Dorset border area is English countryside at its best, with Sherborne being one of the most delightful small market towns we have come across.
We tend not to visit the same place for a second time, but this one may just turn out to be the exception!

So sorry we have been lax in relpying to your lovely review….we have been so busy this Summer our feet have hardly touched the ground! We are so happy you enjoyed your stay and really do hope you decide to make an exception and visit us again - there is so much more of Dorset for you to see, plus the Stables will have had a face lift and of course there will be our new properties for you to choose from! Enjoy the rest of this wonderful Autumn. Sarah and David

“So nice we stayed longer”
Reviewed 30 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We very much enjoyed our stay at The Stables at Clare Cottage. It was quiet and very clean and comfortable and plenty big enough for two. The cottage looks onto a field with sheep, geese and chickens and two friendly cats appeared to check us out as soon as we arrived. Sarah was very helpful and provided milk, butter and fresh coffee to help us get settled. The kitchen was small but very well designed and had everything we needed to cook light meals. Trains go past each hour but did not disturb us at all. Sarah kindly allowed us to extend our stay another night as there was so much to see in the area. Highly recommended. Make sure you follow Sarah's detailed instructions to get there (unlike us).

Thank you for your lovely review. We are pleased you found everything you needed in the Stables to make your stay comfortable. You we blessed with good weather and took full advantage to explore our beautiful countryside. It is a shame so many peole miss Dorset in their hurry to get down to the coast, as we have some of Englands most delightful countryside and of course the stunningly dramatic jurasaic coast line - if you can't resist diping your toes in the briny!
Do come and visit again and explore some more!
Enjoy the rest of your Summer.
KInd regards
Sarah

“Charming, cosy retreat!!”
Reviewed 3 November 2013 for a stay in October 2013

The stables offered us a lovely, well kept weekend escape from the city. We arrived very late in night to a warm welcome from Sarah who went that little bit extra to make sure we were comfortable given the late hour.
It was much appreciated and Sarah continued her warm welcome in the fabulous hamper we ordered.
It was lovely to stay in the comfortable, country yet luxurious self contained stable with log fire and DVDs. Perfect for a cosy winter stay.
Would definitely recommend this peaceful and comfortable retreat!!

So sorry I never responded to your lovely review, my daughter became very ill shortly after your stay and ended up in hospital (she is fine now) but I never got around to making my usual reply. So I am now very belatedly writing to say thank you for your lovely review, we are so glad you enjoyed your excape from the city!
I can also let you know that we have been busy these past months and now we have some more holiday accomodation in our barn conversion, so do look us up in a few weeks time when we go live, there will be one beautiful barn with luxuary accomodation for two people and a further Stables accomodation to sleep 4 people. We hope you will come and visit again soon so you can sample our new offerings!
Enjoy your summer.
Regards
Sarah
