Dinner at Mckenzie’s was a very pleasant and thoroughly enjoyable experience which we are looking forward to experiencing again during our stay in Swanage. The Bistro Cafe is run by husband and wife Julie and Mark (I think) and the food is fabulous. We all had different meals and everyone was impressed and really enjoyed the food. The background music was excellent, classical and very appropriate for the small restaurant which meant that we could chat during the evening and hear each other rather than the loud music in many of the pubs in the area.
All meals are cooked fresh to order and was delicious and definitely worth the wait. Between us we ordered the fish of the day, steak, Hunter’s Chicken and a lamb dish, all arrived together and everything eaten all plates went back clean…
Puddings were also delicious and homemade, and the cheese board was the best my husband has ever had, all cheeses were Dorset local produce.

Looking forward to our next experience.

As still in lockdown ordered a roast dinner to be delivered as a treat. Had Roast Lamb with plenty of vegetables and gravy and it didn't disappoint. Was very impressed with how hot the food kept even the homemade rhubarb crumble and custard for dessert! Would definitely recommend.

We had Roast Lamb with potatoes, parsnips, 4 more vegetables and Yorkshire Pudding. Take away but pipping hot and absolutely delicious. Very good value and highly recommended.

Couldn't eat in because of lockdown, so we decided to try the Sunday roast take-away. It was delicious. The beef was succulent and plenty of it. The four different veg were cooked to perfection, as were the roast potatoes. We decided to collect as we are only five minutes walk away, but the food did not need reheating as it came in foil dishes with lids. Well worth the £9.95 and highly recommended.

We visited Mckenzie’s bistro for dinner while we visited swanage railway. The lady serving was lovely, very polite and helpful. The steak was superb and the price was very reasonable. Would recommend.
