“Lovely cottage fabulous location”
Reviewed 14 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

The cottage is lovely - clean, well equipped and full of character. We stayed with our toddler and found it very baby friendly (high chair, stair gate and cot available). It was very clean and comfortable. The location is fantastic- 2 mins walk to the centre of Bourton on the Water with its beautiful village waterfront.

“A bucket list Christmas week wins 1st place!”
Reviewed 13 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

I had always wanted to spend Christmas in the Cotswolds, so in 2014, I decided I would do it regardless of who came with me. I was joined by my mother and my son, so the set up was perfect for us. When we arrived, Allerton Cottage was beautifully decorated for Christmas, with a small tree, garlands on the chimney mantel and even chocolates and champagne!! It was a superb location right near everything, yet not noisy! It is a registered house, I believe, which means it is a preserved historical building, and the renovations done to it are very tasteful, as well as comfortable and well-maintained. It is obviously the pride and joy of the owners, who are to be applauded for their care, not only with the house, but with the guests who arrive there. A grand time was had by all! Thank you so very, very much!

“Charming Cotswold Cottage”

We stayed in Allerton Cottage for a weekend with friends. We arrived late on Friday after a long drive from London to be greeted by a beautiful cottage in an equally beautiful town.

The cottage is absolutely spotless and the kitchen was very well equipped with tea and coffee available. Also a box of chocolates is waiting upon arrival! The lounge had an open fire which we got going on Friday night. My only gripes about the cottage are the lack of shower curtain in the bathroom and the steep stairs to the top bedroom. However, this is of course to be expected in period properties.

We visited the maze, which at 30 I thought would be naff but was actually good fun. The puzzle solving aspect does make it, and luckily the boys beat the girls! We also visited the model village which was very quaint and well worth a wander round.

All in all a very good stay and I am sure we will be back

“"Great little cottage"”

My Husband and I stayed at Allerton on the 12th of September for a week we absolutely loved it , It was exactly as you see in the photos and spotlessly clean, a kind gesture of chocolates and wine were left also basic provisions of milk, tea, and coffee. The cottage was real old world and full of character ,The beds were very comfortable it was just such a nice place to stay , A beautiful fireplace to light a fire if you were staying in colder months it would be very cosy , there was also central heating to heat the rest of the house which would be great for the chillier nights , If there was one very small issue I would say the bath could benefit from a shower curtain as there is no separate shower so your just using the hand held shower hose sitting in the bath but again this didn't cause any major problems . The cottage is in a fabulous location on the high street very near to everything, Bourton on the water is a beautiful village which we used as a base for travelling all around the other little villages, Broadway being one of my favourites, so when you're thinking about heading to this area I can't recommend Allerton Cottage and Bourton on the water enough !

“cosy and comfortable holiday cottage”
Reviewed 14 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We enjoyed our weeks stay as a small Family (one child 2 years) very much. The Cottage has a very cosy atmosphere and the beds were of good Quality. We were welcomed with some groceries in the fridge which was very friendly. The Cottage is equipped very well and even our daughter found some toys. Bourton is a busy Little village during the day, in the evenings ist very quiet. We enjoyed to have some Restaurants and Shops in Walking distance. On sunny days the river is perfect even for Little children to Play in the water.
