Perfectly serviceable hotel. Had a bath which was great given I was really tired and was just what I wanted. Very conveniently situated near the university. Rooms are clean with all the facilities but nothing special. Breakfast fine. Staff polite. I have stayed at the hotel a few times before and the main problem for me is the scented smell of cleaning fluids which I find a bit sickly. Otherwise would recommend.

Stayed here for two nights for Common People festival in a twin room with my teenage son. Rooms were comfortable and clean and nothing was too much trouble for the friendly and helpful staff. They really made us feel welcome and helped us with any requests. Breakfast in the morning was great, full english buffet, cold meat or cheeses, cereals etc. Reception staff exceptional and a special thanks to Paul on reception who was working till very late at night and was still so cheerful and friendly, a real asset to the hotel and a model for great customer service! We will return when we need to come to Southampton.

Hotel Is not bad, recently decorated. However the hotel is on 3 floors and it has NO LIFT - be prepared to carry cases up 4 flights of stairs if you are allocated floor 3. Beds although spotlessly clean are a little old and 2 people would roll into the middle - possible a plus point for some!! Rooms do not have air conditioning so if weather is good can be quite hot.
Breakfast was included in our price, buffet style refreshed regularly, however there was no cereal. There was fresh fruits, pastries, toast and cooked breakfast did miss some cereal.
All in all good budget hotel but would not want to stay longer than a night or 2

Room Tip: If you have mobility issues or cannot manage stairs ask for Ground Floor.
