“Traditional Fish & Chips in a traditional pub. Just a wonderful place to stop in the old part of town.”

We walked out of the cold air and into a warm pub with a crackling fire and a kind older man behind the bar. We had great fish and chips and enjoyed some ambiance. The foundation was placed in 1272 (or close to that) Amazing old pub. It's also an easy walk to the hotels down along the water and the wall.

We popped in to The Duke of Wellington on a cold, wet and windy, Saturday evening.

We received a warm reception from the bar staff. The selection of draught beers is excellent. The fire was burning in the hearth. The food coming from the kitchen looked very good too.

All in all, a lovely Inn.

We prebooked for pre-cruise dinner. Our booking was for 5 people, but warned the hostess that 7 extra people may be showing up. They were fully booked for the night, but managed to accommodate our extra people after a short wait in the bar area. Food orders came out quickly and were very tasty.
