Visitors can enjoy the themselves in the restored and converted police station cells, felons' exercise yard, gaoler's living room or the spectacularly vaulted former felons' day room. Perfect place for a delightful Sunday roast and a drink. Visited for lunch while we were in the vicinity and it was an overall good experience. The staff were fantastic and the food wasn't that bad. The roast was accompanied by a range of sides and was priced very reasonably. Not to mention, a meal here gets you free entry to the westgate so there's a real plus for visiting this restaurant.

A brand new restaurant and in such wonderful historic surroundings. So much of the character has been retained of the old gaol and police station in this popular bar which now has both restaurant and bar food on offer.
The menu has something to suit all tastes, and the dishes are excellently prepared from locally sourced produce. Whatever you choose will not disappoint.
Book a table soon, because once word gets around, this will be the sought after place to dine in and around Canterbury.

I am yet to try the food at The Pound, but I am always sure to visit for cocktails of an evening whilst in Canterbury. The Pound has a good atmosphere and usually has recent music playing. The bar staff seem skilled at what they do and manage to provide efficient service even when it is busy. The cocktails at The Pound are delicious and they are made with care- it is definitely worth a visit if you are in Canterbury, like cocktails and/or history as it used to be a old police station.

Amazing venue with polite and friendly staff, cocktails are made perfectly and you can see how much effort is put into everything at this venue. Would highly recommend for a nice chilled drink on a date night or even going out with a group of friends on the weekend!

The historic theme is kept through the building making it an interesting and amazing experience, no matter when you come here.
5 star!!!
