“Tasty Treats at the Pump House”

McGuire's Fine Foods
Ranked #17 of 140 Restaurants in Chatham
Price range: US$4 - US$28
Description: We are a delicatessen cafe offering a wide selection of cheese, charcuterie, olives, crackers, sweet biscuits, preserves and chutneys. We source as much as we can from Kent and our neighbouring counties however we also have the best of the rest from further afield. As well as having a large selection of produce to buy from the deli counter and shop we also serve a selection of sandwiches, paninis, homemade quiches, sausage rolls and scotch eggs as well as salads. We offer a selection of smoothies and juices and our coffee has been blended specifically for us. We are set in Pump House No. 5 (an old Chatham Dockyard building) over-looking the River Medway to Upnor Castle one side and across the marina to the yachts on the other. A truly unique setting!!

This is a good stop off if you are doing the walk around Dockside/St Mary's Island. Nice selection on the menu all reasonably priced, very helpful and friendly staff and it is pet friendly as well so all in all a great choice. Highly recommended and looking forward to our next visit.

Been here a few times now and confess to having a favourite- the Parma,Roquefort and pear salad. Delicious!
Today we had ginger beer with it followed by carrot cake/flapjack and coffee
Very civilised!

Not sure how we came across this place but very glad we did. Went for lunch and found it hard to choose. Ended up with my wife having mushrooms in blue cheese sauce and I had the cheese board of the day which was brilliant. Will return to go further through the menu. Excellent value.

We visited Maguires before going onto a family event. The restaurant is not too far from the shopping area. The food is very reasonably priced. They have an excellent selection of cheeses and salamis for purchase but ask for a taster before buying. The site sits next to a distillery which offers tours of their gin and vodka production.

Apparently this delicatessen/cafe opened in March but we were completely unaware of it, as it obviously has not been marketed. It's part of the old pump house now known as "The Copper Rivet", which is a gin and vodka distillery selling award winning spirits. They only serve a selection of mainly cold foods: platters, fancy rolls with interesting fillings, soup and roll etc. For a light lunch this was fabulous. They had beautifully decorated Christmas trees....I think someone there has been watching "Kirsty's Homemade Christmas" as they had some really quirky decorations.I think this will be my favourite local lunch venue in 2018!
