I've stayed in a few Premier Inns in my time and I've always been impressed with the quality of the rooms I've been allocated. However the Royal Tunbridge Wells Premier Inn is right at the top of the pile.
When we arrived we were greeted by a friendly girl on reception who checked us in speedily. We needed our room slightly earlier than the 3pm stated on the booking The manager of the hotel (I'm so sorry but I don't remember his name) went over and above to get us a room...and what a lovely room it was! Spotlessly clean, crisp linen and a large sofa too! Beautiful!
We had breakfast on the first morning of our stay and it was excellent value. Piping hot food, beautiful sausages and the black pudding melted in the mouth. Service was speedy with dishes being filled up quickly.
The jewel in the crown of this hotel are the staff. The staff at the hotel are all so helpful and friendly, from the manager to the cleaner. Everyone greeted us and checked that there was nothing that we needed. Faultless! Thank you!!
Parking is difficult as there aren't many on-site (there is one disabled parking bay) but there is a car park close by and on-street parking within walking distance.
This Premier Inn really is superb and we will be returning on the not-too-distant future, I'm sure!

Room tip: Parking is limited on-site but there is a car park nearby and some on-street parking (check the parking restrictions).

Hotel well placed for the town and Spa Valley Railway
Car park has problems Tight to get into some bays and low ceiling and beams
If you get blocked in as we were Primer Inn are not interested as the car park is run by another company

We had booked this hotel as we needed somewhere to stay whilst attending an event at the spa valley railway that evening!!
Obviously with covid etc things are different and we couldn't check In till 4 pm although we did get in earlier because we had a friend with a broken foot who needed to rest it quite badly so they kindly let us check in !!check in was quick and easy done by a manager we presume who was very helpful.
We were on the 5th floor and we had rooms next to each other room 502 and 503!The rooms were clean and a good size ,the bathroom was a decent size too!!our room had a slight problem with the air conditioning that we couldn't get it to work well but it was fine and again help was offered!
Out room 503 was large but felt a little bit cave like as it only had light coming from a roof window our friends had the room next door with a window but onto a wall!!both OK for a one night stay but no longer I would say!
We slept comfortably although really could have done with extra pillows we only had one pillow each !!we didn't get time to ask for an extra one altho I'm sure they would accommodate if we had asked !!
We hadn't booked breakfast in the morning as wasn't sure if we would fancy it but we did so asked and managed to get in ,it was self service not too manic food was really nice , Staff cleared away tables quickly and cleaned them properly!!
We managed to get parked in the car park at the hotel which was a charge of 5 pound for 24 hours which was great !There was a problem with the one payment machine though although not hotels fault as its not managed by them!!
Again the manager tried to do his best !!The area where hotel is is perfect nice walk to the pantiles and lots of lovely bars and restaurants all around us was very quiet too so no noise overnight!!
All in all we had a really good stay and would recommend to others wanting a reasonably priced hotel room in the area !
Big mention to the guy we presume is the manager who really was very nice ,who went out of his way to help us with everything and was on the ball with all jobs !!makes a stay more enjoyable when people are helpful and welcoming!

Room tip: Car park is small so may not get a space !!room 503 only had a sky light type window which we found a bit claustrophobic!!

Really enjoyed the location as we were arriving by train, an easy walk from the station approx 7 mins.
Just across the road from the Common, an enormous area of grass, trees and paths.
Only about 15 min walk from the Pantiles.
We also found a fantastic pub garden also only 7 mins walk.
Out of hotel turn right, up the road runs down side of hotel, top of rise an entry on right hand side, brings you to Barn Pub, beautiful garden (check it out on line)

Hotel is located close to the station, 5 minute walk from a large multi storey car park, and about 10 minutes walk from Pantiles bars and restaurants. The room was very comfortable; no view as the window faced a dark very small internal void, but efficient air conditioning. Lovely powerful shower and standard bathroom. Breakfast was good - buffet service for cereals, fruit juice, full English, and tea/coffee. Staff were helpful and fruendly.
