Paul and Vicky have set this B&B up to make you feel as if this is your home away from home. Very helpful friendly and the breakfast is something you are very much looking forward to every morning. Paul makes all the marmalades and jams and to top there flavors off is his home made bread.

Had a few days in Ambleside for some much needed time out. Elder Grove was a great choice. Fabulous breakfasts, handy living room areas and a lovely room, with a great view of the fells.

The hosts are really lovely and did everything they needed to, to make me feel welcome.

The parking is handy and the proximity to the town is great and then a short walk to the boats at Waterhead.

This is the fourth year we have stayed here. Paul and Vicky are great hosts. Service is great, breakfast is superb with lots being homemade, bread, jams, marmalade etc. You can also buy them to jacke home. You can pre-book a packed lunch if you are off walking for the day. There is a little bar also. The rooms are spacious with lovely furnishings and a very comfortable bed (room3). We will be back again next year.

Room Tip: Room3 nice views

Off road parking available which is very important. Hosts are very kind and helpful. Breakfasts are really good! Breakfast stack my favorite as is the homemade rasberry vanilla jam. Very Nice table settings and side table settings. Plenty of selections. Very close to town centre and main bus stop. Room and bathroom a good size.Enjoy

Room Tip: Toward the back is quieter.

It's hard to overstate how good this place is. The location in the centre of Ambleside with parking means you can leave the car in the Elder Grove car park. The owners have thought of everything from the honesty bar serving cold drinks and tray bakes round the clock to umbrellas to borrow to a wide selection of books and maps. Our beds were the most comfortable I've slept in while walking and it's the first place that managed to get our saturated boots dry overnight - not once but twice. The range of choices at breakfast was great and included two shelves of jams and marmalades made by the owners. Ten out of ten from us.
