Delighted by the array of imaginative, colourful salads and tasty options of generous portions of quiche or fritata , available for a set price of £5 or £1 for each salad. These were served in boxes with plastic knives and forks. These could be taken out of the cafe or food could be eaten at tables. It was difficult to choose as everything looked appetising. There was an attractive range of cakes and tray bakes for £2:25 each. The chocolate brownie and apricot and fig oat slice,we shared later, were fresh, moist and delicious. Carrot cake with marscapone topping and lemon drizzle also looked good. Difficult to choose from such a good collection

The food here is fantastic and very reasonable. I guess it keeps the price down as the cutlery and crockery are all throw away. Not a place to go for a long leisurely meal but wonderful food.

This is easily the classiest cafe in Kendal. The food is excellent with a good choice of heathy and vegetarian dishes, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and even though the cafe is hidden away there are frequently people queuing patiently outside.

This restaurant had recently rearranged itself to be mainly takeaway with limited seating, instead of the full waitress service they used to offer. But then a disastrous fire in the takeaway premises....now we have a pop up eatery, in the former restaurant. The menu offers 3/4 mains, multiple soups, varied hot sandwiches and lovely cakes. Coffee choice is limited but cheap.
So last week, we had a lamb stew with red cabbage, and a really wonderful nut roast, haloumi, avocado, cranberry concoction in a ciabatta.
Only downside is plastic cutlery and card food containers, will take my own cutlery in future!
Cheerful service and all hot and delivered promptly. How do they do it?!!

Had a takeout ploughman’s box with a good selection of cheese and meat. Cheese was of excellent quality and they had a properly selection to choose from, including strong blues. The beef was available rare and had a lot of flavour.

My wife had the falafel and hummus, again, top quality. Best place for lunch that I’ve found in Kendal.
