A wonderful "castle" well kept and with a homely feeling reflecting the fact that the Strickland family still live there. Many unique features to enjoy. Gardens and grounds give families of all ages somewhere to explore whatever the season.

Sizergh Castle and Garden is another great little garden and historic house within the National Trust portfolio.

The house is interesting and the rock garden with its ferns and colourful Japanese maples is stunning, even on a rainy day!

The site also offers great facilities - ample parking, a shop and a cafe!

This medieval house is home to the Strickland family as still has a lived in feel. There are also gardens to enjoy, a delightful rock garden, collection of hardy ferns, and a new stumpery.

The garden and grounds are beautiful! The colours in the garden were fantastic!

The staff and gardeners were very friendly. A Halloween activity was put on for the children too.

Lovely morning so decided to visit Sizergh Castle we arrived about 10.30am and because the car park was filling up thought we would have coffee and a snack before going around the gardens coffee was lovely as was the fruit scone also the cakes looked delicious unfortunately the bacon bun was very disappointing the bun was tough and cold the bacon looked good quality but it also was cold. I think a different type of bun and some way of keeping the bacon hot would be a good move.
The gardens were as usual delightful they were busy with families enjoying the Halloween trail so nice to see the children encouraged to visit,

Thank brenala
