If you want simple, clean and a no frills camping experience then this is the place.
Well managed site and great price (£6 per adult). There are no extra charges for things like tents and cars which is nice to see.
There is no hot water other than in the showers. The showers are on pay meters - 50p for 4 mins (and they only accept 50p pieces which you can get from the farm house).
Over the bank holiday weekend they open additional fields which do have porta-loos but the main facilities (which is where the showers are) get extremely busy. This and the no hot water previously mentioned is the only reason we knocked off a star in the rating.
This is the second time we have used this site and it works well for us. It is a 20 mins drive into Keswick or there are a couple of local pubs within walking distance.

Stayed for 2 nights in a mixed group of 6 on an organised trip. The welcome from Derek was warm and most helpful as it was from Richard the owner. The site is in the most beautiful location. Facilties were more than adequate for £6 per night but the absolute bonus was the barn. Dry and warm which was handy as the Borrowdale rain had arrived I will return to this site in my own time hopefully very soon and would certainly recommend it to my friends.

Me and my friend stayed at this campsite whilst on a coast to coast trek across the UK. The campsite itself was fantastic with basic but good facilities and fantastic views!

We arrived at around 8 p.m. And after 10 hours walking were ready for some food, the owner generously offered to take us to the pub after we had pitched our tent and we accepted. He also gave us some tips and shortcuts for the following days journey!

I would definitely recommend this campsite to anyone especially coast to coast travellers as it's highly convenient and in route!

We stumbled on this site as everywhere else was wanting minimum 3 night stay over the August Bank Holiday. How lucky we were. Chapel House Farm is situated in the beautiful Borrowdale area of the Lakes. Absolute back to basics, decent facilities, 50p for a hot shower, toilet bock or portacabin if staying in one of the fields away from the main site, decent local pubs within 10 minutes walk. Nice and peaceful late on, quiet time after 10:30pm, unlike many sites which seem to tolerate noise no matter what the time. Only £6 pppn, bargain. The guy who runs the place is a cheerful character and very polite....reminded me of Mick McCarthey the football manager. We will definitely be back.

Definitely the best camp site i have ever been to. Stayed here several times by myself and with family. The owner is the nicest bloke you could ever meet. Even let my family and i into his sheep shearing sheds to watch the farm at work. Nice quiet site ! If you want to stay up all night and party you might be better looking else where, If you want peace and quiet with stunning scenery and excellent facilities, i would recommend this place all day long
