We enjoyed some of the home brewed beer and enjoyed a family meal. The 4 hour braised beef pie was very good and so were the fish and chips. We had a gorgeous view of the lake from our table which was a real treat! The only negative would be that they did seem a bit short staffed for a Bank holiday Good Friday and so the service was fairly slow!

The Brackenrigg Inn was just around the corner from where we were staying in holiday, so we thought we’d try it. We’re really glad we did. I must say, it’s one of the best fish n chips I’ve ever had! The service was really friendly and efficient. Really good value too. Nice atmosphere too with friendly locals and visitors. Nice open log fire too.
Well worth a visit if you’re round Ullswater.

Came in for a late lunch after being held up walking down the mountain...

We hoped for a hot meal and a nice cozy atmosphere, and that’s what we got, a welcoming roaring fire and an excellent menu, wonderfully delivered. Steak sandwich and chunky chips, and delicious deserts to finish up on.

A bit on the expensive side, just like most establishments in this area. Would recommend though.
