This is the 2nd year we've been to ladies day and it was much better than last year. More food vendors and drinks stands, the one issue I did have was that we purchased the prosecco vouchers before, thinking there'd be a separate bar for this voucher and we wouldn't have to queue for so long, there wasn't so it was a waste of time purchasing them. Very expensive day with prosecco being £30 a bottle.
Entertainment at night was fantastic though. Hopefully it will be the same next year as we'll be going again.
Had a fabulous day on ladies day for a friends hen do,
There was lots of space outside and inside.
They definitely need more ladies loos! We queued for 30mins each time.
There was plenty of parking
At the end of the racing we went to see all saints and mark wright trying to DJ
All saints were amazing but didn't stay to see mark wright!!
There were loads of food vans plenty of choice
Would definitely go again
Very disappointing day. Paid extra for "Music Marque" tickets in central enclosure? On arrival no-one seemed to know where Gate 1 was so directed all over the place. on arrival at Gate 1 told it was too late and we had to go back to main turnstiles! Once again told to go back to Gate 1 which we didn't as by now the First Race had started. Told to go to the "crossing point" which we couldn't find - the sign was on a low fence surrounded by people. Eventually got to the gate and had to wait till the 2nd Race had finished before being allowed to cross.
(Incidentally the Security Guard Ewan, who didn't work for the Racecourse, was the most helpful member of staff.)
Once by the Music Marquee we had to lift out pub benches from the tent to sit on. 1 bar and 1 food buffet (burgers or hog roast so a poor choice). Long queues at the 1 bar to redeem our drinks vouchers.
NO BIG SCREEN so the only racing we saw was when the horses came by us.
The literature given to us prior to the event stated we would not be allowed back across the track, but later on we realised people were actually doing this.
We have been to other Ladies Day's which were much better organised, so certainly will not return to Leicester. A very poor day for the £80ish paid as a present by my husband.
Dear Jane I am sorry that you had a poor experience of Ladies Day at Leicester Racecourse. You joining instructions will have advised as to accessing the centre course through gate one, in addition we had a twenty foot banner pointing the centre course guests to the centre, positioned at the top of the main drive way. There was also a video on Facebook to help with directions on Ladies day. The centre was advertised as a quiet alternative and what was described was sold. During the day a decision was made to allow crossing the course, we reacted to requests made by our customers.
Brilliant day out , we did the package in the Nelson Suite , we were so well looked after, nothing was too much trouble , one of our party is gluten free and they were very pleased with food provided, beautiful set tables , well worth the money , lots of courses but well spaced out , definitely recommend it
Dear Yvonne we are delighted you enjoyed Ladies Day it's our biggest day of the year and we enjoy it too. Thank you again for your comments.
Saturday 8th July was ladies day at Leicester races, which I have to say is a day not to be missed in the yearly calendar.
Plenty of places to get drinks, which is good as the ques have been very large before, only probably 5 min wait which is not bad. Lots of food places to eat from Indian, to chinese, Pizza, to kebabs to fish and chips, coffee and cake etc..
They did have a large amount of toilets put on, probably could do with more, but not sure where they would put them, just a lot of ladies around !
Staff were friendly and helpful and the weather helped, would highly recommend for a day out.
Only thing I think they should do would be put have people walking around with cold bags selling water, this needed as you don't have time to que all the time this would also make them a lot of money !
Dear Louise we are delighted you enjoyed your time with us on Ladies Day. You make a good point and we look at this for next year. Watch this space for the acts.
What an amazing day made perfect by the beautiful weather. I love going to this racecourse as it is so friendly and well run. There is always so much going on. The music was great before and after the races. The food amazing and plenty to choose from. I'm looking forward to Ladies day now.
