Took the grandchildren to see the moon exhibit at the Cathedral. They really enjoyed it. Shame it had to leave for Australia. It was enjoyed not only by the children but adults alike.
Only let down was, it would have appeared better if illuminated from within.

Visited Leicester and the cathedral, it’s the most depressing place I have ever been there is homeless people all over the city you can not walk through the town without being asked for money by aggressive beggars, I would not ever think of visiting here again worst short break holiday ever.

It’s a real shame there is so many homeless people in Leicester, spoiling the city for visitors.

I have lived in Leicester for many years and have been to the Cathedral a number of times. It has improved considerably since the Richard III find and is a lovely place to spend 20 minutes or so. Usually people there who are happy to provide background information. Very close to the Park & Ride, too!

Modest by the standards of ancient cathedrals this is nonetheless a fine building with an interesting blend of old and new, such as the bishop's throne and modern stained glass. There has clearly had to be some reordering to accommodate the tomb of Richard III and I'm not sure about siting the choir stalls at the rear but then space is limited. Rather curiously, the centre of the nave was laid up for what looked like a silver service dinner with a serving area at the side. That and the presence of scaffolding meant that the building was not displayed to best advantage but I appreciated my visit all the same. The custodians (probably not the correct term) I found to be informed, charming and not at all pushy.
