We stayed at The Adelphi for one night as a stopover on our way to our holiday in Wales.
We found it clean and excellent value for money at £38 for the night.
Great location for the bars etc and a splendid day/night was had by all.
It does exactly what it says on the tin.

Two rooms booked in Adelphi hotel in Liverpool for one night 29-30 August. Horrible experience...
Room 660 bathroom was dirty and smell bleach. Cups not cleaned at all. Tea kettle covered with paint drops.
Room 653 all tea cups was in bleach powder. It were two kids and adult staying in this room. I pour drink in one of the tea cups and drank it with bleach. Thanks God it was me but not one of the children. It was only one big sip but until now I feel bleach taste in my mouth. I did call to 999 and they told me to drink a lot of water. I guess call recorded anyway. We went to complain to reception all of them accepted that it's horrible but we have been told to comeback in the morning. One of the staff brought us clean cups in 20 min. Needless to say that evening was ruined but as we had no choice we have left reception and stayed overnight. When we came back next morning we have been offered free parking as compensation. It was our second visit to Adelphi hotel but as I mentioned it was horrible experience thus time.

Great location, very close to Lime Street station......that's about the only good thing. A dated white elephant of a building not up to modern hotel standards. If you can for the same price bracket book your stay at a Premier Inn or Travelodge both available in Central Liverpool.

No maintenance done to any room ,broken showers ,tap head missing, instead of replacing wash hand basins and baths they have painted them ,now the paint is peeling off .for the price they charge for the rooms it’s a complete joke £200 to stay in a squat

Room tip: Don’t stay here ,sleep in a bus shelter it cleaner and cheaper

The public rooms are quite stunning but the bedrooms require an upgrade. The overnight car park is a disgrace. A fly-tipping ground for all sorts of debris. At £13 / night it is robbery. No security whatsoever. Alternatively use the multi storey car park opposite the hotel at £5/night. Security gates close overnight at 7.30
