Was wondering around Liverpool after having some food in a restaurant, looking for something to do for the night and noticed some amazing fire displays. After some research we found out that it was Africa Oye festival with live music and entertainment. Myself and my partner looked online and discovered tickets were sold out for the night. However, we decided to follow to crowds to the entrance of the event where we discovered there was a box office to purchase tickets on the night! We were certainly entertained by the amazing performances, music, food and drink stalls. Would completely recommend going to the garden or if possible the feast of fire festival as it was a spectacular evening! Staff approachable and it was an evening for couples as well as families with children.

After visiting the nearby Walker Art Gallery we strolled through these gardens to look at the statues. Despite a cold, rainy day we enjoyed our stroll.

Behind St George's Hall, across the road from the library, you'll find St John's Gardens.
Very pleasant to walk around; have a sandwich for lunch; or admire the many statues.
You'll get a good view of it from the outside terrace of the Central Library across the road.

A small but perfectly maintained garden that is a peaceful spot in the centre of this busy city.
Lots of statues and tributes are here, including a particularly moving tribute to Liverpool96
